They are still light enough you can have some fun with them!

Well I certainly don't foresee myself doing that, I just want to have something I can single track with and not kill me.

Just hoping the weight is not too much once I get it in the trails, and the power is enough to keep me happy for a while. I don't think I recall anyone that's owned one complain about it.

I will be back in touch in a couple of weeks so that we can start looking for a date that'll work for everyone.

I might be up for it. If the ride is off road only, I will plan to trailer my plated KLX450. I have vacation planned for 3rd week of July. My preference would be over a long weekend.......

Yep that is THE Wolf Creek Rd. If you try it I would suggest you come down it from Max Patch Rd toward Hwy 70. We tried to go up it. Apparently there is a Wolf Creek Falls at the top that is supposed to be great. If you go up this way be sure to walk to top of Max Patch and do Hurricane Creek Rd if you have never done it.
But don't say I didn't warn you about Wolf Creek Rd.

Keep me in the loop on that ride being planned as well. If the dates work I might want to bring up the rear on my DR that I've barely ridden since I got it earlier this year.

Hope everyone is doing well.

I could do a day trip up on July 13th....and meet the group up for that day if there are others doing a weekend out of it.

Tat trip report

Thanks to everyone following us on our trip. We are currently in Lakeview Oregon. We hope to be at the Pacific late sunday or early monday. We (Al ) had some tire issues early in the trip.Things were going well untill yesterday. We had 2 major part failures. Al's horn stopped workin (might be cause he has blown it at every cow, critter and female he has seen since we left home) and I had a fuse blow on my lighting circit.. The horn is still down (thank god ) the lights I fixed last evening. So far it has been a wonderful trip. I have been trying to post up on ADV every fow days. It is hard to do on the road. My report is in the ride reports section under 2650's, 2 retires, 2 months on the road. There are lots or pictures with the report. I have done dozens of LD rides and a dozen or more multi days rallys, but this is a tough, tough ride if you ride the whole trail. The terrian changes and the navigation skills needed to stay on the trail are overwhelming. We have had a lot of weather related issues, but even in good conditions it takes its toll on you. You can't relax for a minute or you will crash. We both have had some minor tip overs, but no bike damage or injuries so far. Al shipped his lucky horseshoe he found (stole ) home in the mail and ever since he has had several flat tires and his navigation skills have gone to pot. He had us going in circles in the Utah, Nevada desert and has fallen down several times. hopefully tomorrow he can run over one of the 100's of long eared rabbits that keep running out in front of us and get himself a lucky foot to ward off the evil spirits that have besieged him.

Thanks for taking the time to post up here as well. I've been following your ride very closely and am amazed at the effort it takes to do a ride like that and write about it at the same time.

Here's a link to Augie's TAT trip for anyone who hasn't seen it:

Wish I could go but I took a couple days off and went wondering. Started towards Virginia on the BRP but the weather turned me back. As we speak, Am in a Mickey D's in Carolina Beach. Where to from here, I have no clue.
HUMMM. Shrimp from Joe's Crab Shack in Myrtle Beach sound good for tonight. We'll see which way the wind blows.

Since my dual sport skills are lacking I will be the official photographer. If there is a camera there SOMETHING interesting will happen.
