Welcome! The dinners at Hawthorne's vary from month to month and might have 3 people or might have 13 people, but it's a great place to meet new folks and plan some rides!

Welcome Robert.

Brendon, I won't be able to make it to the Beaver. Working that weekend. This weekend am in.

Might be going for the Rapture Redoo - Oct 20-23. Will leave on Friday 21st afternoon and will be back by Sunday 23rd.

Anyone else interested. Heard from the few of the folks I met at Fall Fire Ball that this event/party will be great...

newb-specific DS ride in NW CLT, Sat. Oct 1 @ 2:00

allll right then, now that monsoon week is over , we're gonna try the "newb-specific dual sport ride" again!

Where: my place, (NW CLT, just below Mtn Island Lake). PM me for directions!

When: 2:00 Saturday Oct. 1

What: some open field practice, obstacle clearing techniques, small/medium hill climbs, etc. From there, we'll venture into the woods/trails and tackle some slightly more difficult terrain/ATV paths, and possibly graduate to some singletrack by the end of the day! We will go at whatever pace and tackle whichever terrain folks wish, please feel free to pipe up if you aren't comfortable, or want to wick it up!

Who: you!

Why: not??

Wish I had my bike ready to come out. Gonna need some tires and a bash plate at minimum. I live off Alexanderana so I'm super close. Next time hopefully i'll be prepared.

I dunno, with your experience I don't think the lack of a bash plate or perfect tires will kill ya... This is more gentle stuff overall (hence newb-specific). Heck, the tires that I'll be using have 3K miles on them, and are about to be binned in mid-October...

Yeah, I see your point, but I have tried the stock trailwings on my DR around my house and they are pathetic. Heck, I may still try to come out...PM me your address.

Thought I had it sold...looking like the guy has bailed on it though, so it may remain in the stable!

Hey man! Yeah, nice to meet you neighbor. You forgot the "e" in Browne

They've been tearin stuff up over there lately on the road. You in that neighborhood? Amber ridge I wanna say? Bet you're glad to have the light on Eastfield now...I sure am!

I'm a 4th generation Huntersville native. You know, before all the bankers moved in followed by the malls and starbucks. I grew up with the Davis family who all live across the street from you down the gravel road. They used to have dairy cows on the property where the tennis court now exists.

Hey man, you should stop in on Saturday as well, can't recall what bike you're riding currently but if it's dirt-capable you should come out - lots of great hidden trails over this way... PM me if interested

You guys are real close to me. I live right off old statesville near "downtown" huntersville. Real nice place to be minus the traffic around here. I know of the davis'. I am a firefighter with the city of Concord and work with a guy who grew up with the davis' on hucks rd.

Wish I could make it for pizza but i gotta mow tonight, now that the rain has finally stopped.

I would love to get together and ride sometime soon.

Ben

C'mon out and ride saturday afternoon, just down the road from you! (see my previous post for details). If interested, just PM me.

FWIW, the pizza deal is every 3rd Thursday, so the next one won't be until Oct 20

Also, would any of you guys be interested in a "queen city" tag-o-rama like the raleigh area. I like to chase the state tags because its an excuse to ride to a destination but figured we deserve our own tag game here. Sorry to junk up the pizza thread, but you guys are the ones who would be playing....

So any interest?
