It would be easier to buy a motard wheel set with spokes than try to adapt , BUT a set of R6 wheels would be KICK ASS.
As for tracks around Charlotte, Carolina motorsports park in Kershaw SC. Is a little over an hour from East Charlotte. Check out there web site.

The spoked wheel sets are too pricey $$ for me. I'm hoping to get the mags with new tires for $500 or less. Here's a website that tells about doing it. Certain Suzuki wheels seem to be what fits best from what is available in the US, but I really like the 6 spoke Honda wheels best. The shipping from Australia would cost more than the wheels though.
Here's the link: http://motard-supermoto-wheels.sport...-supermoto.htm

I'll check out Carolina motorsports park. That's a lot closer to Charlotte, but about the same from Boone.

Riding and pizza always sounds like an excellent idea....hope we can make it happen. Anyone have any ride suggestions? I have been wanting to get back up to the Wilson Creek area and explore around if anyone knows the area well. Also open to any other ride suggestions, I am just dieing to get a real ride in instead of the daily commute.

Ben

There's a Charlotte Supermoto group on facebook that has access to an old go-cart track on the north side of town somewhere. Sounds like it could be fun...

The owner doesnt live here and they have plans to buy/rent the track out, but what they do is kinda grey (not legal or completely illegal). And they keep talking about evading cops etc. As much as would love to, thats the reason I am staying away..

EDIT: their group is called NC Supermoto on faceyspace.

Great ride yesterday....good to meet you again Keith and Rick. I had a blast and saw some beautiful country I had yet to explore north of Wilkesboro on into Virginia. Cant wait to do it again and head east towards Uwharrie or south to the dirt roads nears Kings Mountain you were talking about.

I want to put our route into some map software but I am not sure what to use any suggestions? It would be great to start storing this up to create our own "dual sport maps" of the east coast. Any free or cheap reliable solutions anyone knows of?

Hope you guys had fun last night but by the time I got home I was beat down and ended up ordering pizza and cracking open a couple cold ones at the house....catch you guys next time

A GOOD RIDE! That view from Chestnut ridge is awesome. I hate we ran out of time, there were only about 300 more miles of GREAT roads in that area, but like Keith my bony butt was giving out. Ben hate you missed supper with the guys but you would have been backtracking again, and I know I could't have done it. Like I said before my weekdays are my riding days, although I stay busy I can be persuaded to take off if nothing is pressing. Let's do it again.
RICK.

Had a great time Thursday night. Interestingly, of the 10 folks there, the only one that caged it was my wife... Nice to see all the bikes lined up out front!

And yeah yeah yeah she is willing to ride with me sometimes, but she was coming from a different direction!
