We sit around and talk big about rides we are going to take or have taken. People do discuss getting together for rides in the future.

If it's a meetup it only requires me to oil the chain. If it's a ride, then I need cash, some Seafoam, a new chain and sprocket and a rear with tread. Just asking.

Welcome to the area!

I may be wrong, because I have only been a handful of times, but as far as I know its just a hangout. As long as the KLR can make it there and back you are good to go. Also I have heard some people drive the cage if need be.....

Hope to see you there!

Ben

Made it back from Mexico without being robbed, kidnapped or beheaded. In fact, the people were amazingly nice and friendly and it was a trip I'll never forget. I'll tell some stories next week at Hawthornes but here's a few pics...

The Bay of Loreto, Baja California Sur.

Crossing the Tropic of Cancer on the "Espinoza del Diablo".

Entering the Copper Canyon area on a beautiful, freshly paved twisty road that ran for hundreds of kilometers down into, across and then back out of the canyon itself and does NOT appear correctly on any maps!

And my riding partner Dave on the River Road, running along the Rio Grande near Terlingua, TX.

Paging JMforPres to the white courtesy phone..... He'll at least have ideas on the subject, I would presume.

Ride, drive or walk - just get there. It's just a chance to hang around and tell lies. Bring the wife or girlfriend, but not both at the same time.

Some more pics from Mexico...

Look closely at the last one - I'm standing on the road, and you can see three other sections of the same road in the picture. We twisted around so much into that canyon that I fully expected to pass myself going the other way!

I don't personally have experience with Oilheads but the 1100s are very similar to Airheads which I have had some experience. PM me or come to Hawthornes on Thursday and we can talk about it.

Has anyone been to the outer banks NC with bike in tow? In particular I am going to Okracoke island, and would like to know if it is worth the time and effort to take a xr650 to a small, quiet, little family type vaca spot? Thanks for the help.

Is it alright if a noob with a 2008 KLR from Concord meet up with y'all? Looking forward to meeting some other ADV guys from Charlotte.
