Thanks! And yes it was quite a surprise... Wasn't going fast... Just cruising along in 2nd gear, enjoying the day... all of a sudden no more cruising along ! I'm pretty sure I can make the 20th... Looking forward to meeting everyone . I doubt I can make the ride on the 15th but I'll see how things shape up between now and then.

It's not a bad idea to stay off trails in areas where you know hunters have set up stands in the Fall season. After New Years nobody will be hunting until Turkey season opens in the Spring and that makes warm days in Jan-Mar probably the best times to explore......

Also... I met Augie Dog (not knowing his ADVrider connection) the other night at one of Kings Mountain's finest watering holes... The Bear's Den. Great guy with alot of riding experience who encouraged me to get on here and connect with everyone.

Cool... Glad to hear of another XR rider as well!

I think I can probably do a short ride tomorrow... Meeting at 11:00 is good. I'll check back on here this evening to see if you all have something definite planned and to confirm if I can for sure go. What kind of ride do ya'll typically do... road, dirt, etc?

I try and stay in the dirt, or off road as much as possible. Trails by you look interesting, so whatever your comfortable with.....your trails or the ones near me.

I probably should have waited until later in the day to post my intentions/availability for tomorrow... I don't think I'll be able to ride tomorrow either. Got a big Final Exam on Mon and Wed... Didn't get as much studying done today as I had hoped. Sorry about that... Once I get these tests behind me I'll have some freedom for a few weeks.

However... Like you I also prefer the dirt over the road and am anxious to check out your trails soon. If we don't get a ride up before I'll be at Hawthornes Pizza on the 20th.

Great seeing everyone at Hawthorne's on Thursday. Augie - looks like me and Jon were asleep for the photo op.

Lent my cage to a friend whose wife's car spun a bearing, so I'm on the Strom for the foreseeable future. Still no dual sport but some day I'll be back to trail-ready and can delight in all of the gang's recent discoveries.

Sorry, haven't logged on in a while. Unless something changes i'm probably out of commission on weekends through the end of the year. We've got two bathrooms that need finishing (electrical, sheetrock, mud, paint.....) before Christmas, and Saturday seems to be the only time I have to work on anything!
