SLAP '10 (5/21-22) Official Information Thread
... Slap '10 May 21-22 ...
White Rock Mountain, Arkansas SITE LINK - whiterockmountain.com Rides and Routes Thread for SLAP We will "wing it" at first..but if you want gps trax, speak up and we will see about getting you some. We will start a separate thread sometime in FEB 2010 to get an idea for a count of who wants dirt and who wants pavement so that we can get trax and/or guides The Lodge and all three cabins at White Rock have been reserved for SLAP. Cabins will sleep up to 6 and the lodge will accomodate up to 24 persons bunkhouse style. 8 campsite are available and each site will accomodate multiple tents. SLAP entry fee will include Friday and Saturday dinner, breakfast Saturday and Sunday, and a bunk in the lodge or campsiteif desired (until filled). Entry fee will be kept as low as possible and will be determined once we get a handle on participation and the food and drink costs. A few details: Cabin Rental: $70 per night 2 night minimum Lodge Rental: $150 per night based on minimum of 10 occupants. $5 each additional person. Tent Sites: $10 per night ALL CABINS HAVE BEEN RESERVED If you desire a bunk or tent space please indicate in your "In" response. Be Patient with us as we are still trying to put this together as we go. Fees will be similar to last years fees minus $5. (except for tent site fees) BUT, "We must secure the cabins, lodge and campsites by the last day of December so, in order to insure that the fees are paid and dates are secure. Deposit has been paid! SLAP is a GO! Check back often as this post will most likely be updated frequently. Bedding and towels. If you are in the lodge or a cabin remember to bring your own. TP is provided and that's about it. Chair...If you've got room bring a folding chair. Campsites..we've got about 8 sites.....plenty of room but let's get friendly, but not too friendly, ok. Kitchen and Serving Help....This is a self-supported event. We will need 2-3 people (or more) per meal to help prepare and serve. Help out for one meal and you are done. Meals this year will be real simple so minimal help will be needed. Gas......Fill up before you get to White Rock! A gas can is a good idea for those with scrawny tanks. Beer This year, if you want beer, you will need to supply your own. We will try and have a few ice chests available at the "gather'n" place (Lodge Patio) for you to keep it on ice. All we ask is be respectful of others beer and if it isn't yours, ask. Turners Bend will be the closest beer available and they close 8pm! ICE The concessionaire at White Rock does sell ice. $2.50 for a 20lb bag. Sign-In on Arrival There will be a sign-in sheet in the kitchen at the lodge. Emergencies Contact Information.... We will update this info soon. We will need at least three- four tents per campsite at White rock to accomodate everyone. IF YOUR NAME IS ON THE "IN" LIST AND WE DO NOT HAVE YOUR PREFERENCE LISTED AS BUNK, TENT, ETC., PLEASE LET US KNOW SO WE CAN PLAN ACCORDINGLY. REMINDER....YOU MUST BRING YOUR OWN BEDDING AND TOWELS FOR THE LODGE AND CABINS. The bunks-beds are just what you imagined...top and bottom..Stake your claim to top or bottom with the bedmate of your choice! FOR THOSE OF YOU ON STREETBIKES THAT WOULD RATHER NOT TAKE-ON THE GRAVEL ROADS TO WHITE ROCK MTN, THERE IS A VERY NICE CAMPGROUND AT SHORES LAKE, ABOUT 6 MILES FROM WHITE ROCK. WE CAN FERRY FOLKS UP TO THE RALLY SITE IF NEEDED. LINK TO SHORES LAKE: http://www.fs.fed.us/oonf/ozark/publ..._Lake_0705.pdf T-SHIRT THREAD will probably done by inmate DIRTYDOG so be watching for that link here. CUT-OFF DATE FOR REGISTRATION 5 MAY.
