PDX Off-Pavement Ride - Page 101

The 6 has many spots as does west of Carlton/Yamhill, mostly private, and then out towards barney, etc. i live by Hagg lake in Trask 14, so I can drive the back way to Browns Camp...interesting ride.

As far as this weekends ride, Id go for a medium ride, say 2-4 hours, preferably on Sunday...

Eitherway count me in, ...

(tried to find a west side ride meetup posted...what about Banks exit, parking lot, by the store)

just throwing this out there, ...howabout?

Saturday or Sunday around 9am, west side meet, off the 47 somewhere.. .
My Saturday just opened up, ...So, the earlier the better.

Any one know a good group route to take some rookies out on?

Hey for fishin and camping this spot we found is perfect. No cages can make it down and the campin was perfect. It was right next to the railroad tunnel so if it starts gettin nasty you could set up a tent in there. We could try for this spot over the weekend and show you what i'm talkin about.

I was thinking we'd meet at the dairy queen just past banks on 26. From there we can ride all day on some great logging roads and maybe even get LoudAl to lead us. That is his neck of the woods and he knows the roads well. Not to mention it's fun to follow him because if we hit any snow, when we round the corner he be laying in it.

what day are people thinking about meeting up? I might be able to get away for a couple hours again this weekend. That is if my new tires come in, and I get a few scheduled maintenance things done. Whats the weather supposed to be looking like?? Can't be much worse than last week...

I was thinking Saturday, as the weather they show now says 60 degrees. What a great change that would be. Would love to have you come out Brian. Saturday 10 am if that sounds good to everybody? John

10am dq is fine for me.

Whats the estimated duration of this ride? Unfortunatly, I have a limited window for my first ride...I'd need to start pointing my front tire eastward on the 6 by 2pm....

That won't be a problem at all we'll stop for lunch or something around 1 or 1:30 on 6. Then you can decide if you really want to leave us or not.

Thanks for the recommendation, I can't wait to check it out!

As for this weekend, I might not be able to make it. We still have a lot of packing to do and I can't just leave the wife alone to fend for herself. I'm trying to get it all done before then. I'll keep you if I can make it.
