We'll see how it fits
It's quality rubber and seems to be properly sized. I did not install on my bike as inspection yesterday showed no sign of rubbing. Bike has 1800 miles on it but new to me.

FriedDuck - these guys are in ATL, I got mine day after ordered shipped USPS.

Bad KTM the O rings for the 990 fuel pump are $53 and the pinchy
filters are $150

It 's easy to split some fuel line of the right size and use it.

Got the news from my dealer and he said KTM is going to good will warranty the fan shroud and radiator. Kudos to RPM Cycles in Dallas. They have been super helpful on both my gauge cluster and this radiator fiasco. Not to mention they keep my SXV 550 running!

Albie, that is good news. I had a brain malfunction Saturday http://www.advrider.com/forums/showt...5#post11464095 which provided reason for me to check out my radiator for the fan problem. My bike has been down numerous times before bending my radiator mounts (but no leaks till Saturday) which prompted me to install radiator guards. My fan was not touching the surface of the radiator in spite of my abuse.

It looks like, given how easy it is to bend the mounts, that maybe the upper fan mounting bracket is getting bent on some bikes pushing the fan into the radiator.

It's the shroud rubbing the radaitor not the fan.
I have fixed mine by removing plastic from the shroud.
690e owner's need to get it fixed or risk getting stranded
mine is and 08 e with only 3500 miles
I'm just trying to help

Yes, of course. When I referred to the fan, I was talking about the whole fan/shroud assembly. On my bike, the fan/shroud assembly does not touch the radiator. It comes close, particularly at the bottom, but does not touch. What can I say; I'm not usually lucky in situations like this as my bump-gate experience shows.

Think I'm going to put some Hi temp silicone sealant around the bottom pins to
keep them from moving. Hope this will keep them from loosening up.

Really gave mine a good look. The shroud is not warped at all, so heating up and warping isn't the issue. It appears that the two pins that mount to the bottom of the rad is where the problem is. They have worn down significantly from the vibration I'm assuming which has allowed the shroud to move closer to the rad. The most wear is from the bottom of the shroud to about halfway up.

At some point the pins will break Ktm needs to sent out new shrouds
with a new mounting design. I'm thinking of fabing a mount would replace
the plastic pins with metal studs and bolt's It's a lot of work I should
bill KTM more cool-aid please

Did the 15min idle test on my bike this morning. When the fan kicked in the wind was sucked through the radiator completely. As I cut away some 2mm cowling on the fan I checked but there seems to leak almost no air trough the sides.
