There and back again. A F800GS tale by The Griz.

Belated trip report from Minneapolis to Yellowstone, GTNP, SW Wyoming, Colorado, RMNP, Nebraska, Iowa, and back. It all began in Minnesota... the weather was hot...

The heat, unbearable. Must have been 90-95 degrees in western Minnesota moving into eastern South Dakota.

Entering the SD Black Hills.

My buddy riding a Triumph Scrambler 900 went down around a gravel turn going 30mph or so. Bent his shift lever, which in turn bent the shift spindle. This in turn broke the oil seal around the shift spindle. Oil was spewing out until we bent the shift spindle back a bit. He shifted for the rest of the entire trip without an L-Shaped shift lever. The L part broke off!

After Devil's Tower, didn't take any more pics with my 35mm until the Bighorn Mountains. Ended up camping shortly after entering them.

We had a Moose Cow and Mule Deer fawns running through camp! Nice!

The next morning we headed up to Medicine Wheel in the Bighorn Mountains.

Beautiful up there. I could live there! Plus, there was a hot park ranger we met.

Then took a Forest Service road off the main road coming down the backside of Beartooth. Set camp.
