Nice one Josh Was nice meeting you
According to the news you'd better stay in the shade at the the moment in your part of the globe
Happy riding, and keep the muddy side down

Can anyone verify if the XTank will work with the 07 Hepco Becker pannier system? 4rider showed me his and it looked like it would be tight... If it fits, anyone have pictures?
My luggage is running the smaller aluminum 90 degree units (forget the vendor), not the HB adapter..

Matt

Edit: Happy Trails adapter kit.

Matt, don't about MY of the different racks. Though tight the rack used to comply with the Xtank. From the racks with the "quicklock" or whatever this system interferes with the tank. There are ways around it, but it's not a straight bolt-on. There is a picture on my site (see sig) of a rear view with an old type H&B rack

I had missed that photo...
Mine has some quick release system at the very bottom.. Still have to take a dozen bolts out to remove frame, but in assume that's the newer one.
Bummer... Between that and (I remember reading somewhere) that the Remus pipe won't fit, maybe different pannier system is needed :-)

Thanks Eric.

Matt

putting the final touches on for this years fun

need to finish making the tank bag, and will post again packed up

made up some brackets to lower the pegs found here, i think i was able to lower the them about 1 3/4"
2" Rox risers from last year, and have raised them another 7mm from the scott damper mounting bracket

thank you for the suggestion....

in the photo it has 2" of clearance,
will report back as to how well it performs

its now november, after a summer from korea & russia all the way to netherlands. the fender was perfect. i had so much watery mud (several thousand kms worth) that the rad did get covered from splashing mud, requiring to clean en route, wonder how much more it would have had, if i was using the high fender...

Hey Colebatch, I was wondering..

I know you installed an alternative dash/gauges on yor X, where did you took the tach signal from? Is there any tach signal wire coming from the ECU ?

regards,

most aftermarket tachos just have a sensor wire that you wrap around a high voltage line. The X is trick for that since there is no high voltage line - the coils are connected directly to the plugs. In my case we actually cut into the low voltage power wire that leads into one of the coils and took a feed from that.

A friend nicked it for a rally, I seem to be a donor for last minute RR bits.

Has anybody installed or does anybody know if the Touratech G650X Radiator Protection Bar will fit a 2009 XCountry? It looks like it will from the TT picture.

Walter,
Do you ever think in adapting the speedbrain rally fairing of the bmw G450X on the G650X, instead of the KTM 690? (despite its similarity!)

i have a friend moscow who has the speedbrain fender.

The quality is poor.

Its an option for people who have 210mm spaced forks. I think a modified F800GS one is better (see Pine Sol's post above) and a lot cheaper.

For me they are not options.. The forks on my bike have KTM spacing (190mm), so I need KTM low fenders

Walter, I was referring to the top fairing, not the low fender. The speedbrain have a side finish that gives a nice look to the bike.

[

Have you ever considered Making a side finishing more or less similar to the speed or implied a fiber work too elaborate?
Your solution
