I am not up on Japan's currency right now, but I can tell you when I was at Mid-Ohio a few years ago, there were Japanese buyers with big trucks\trailers walking around the swap meet area paying cash-asking-price on 1 to 2 dozen bikes at a go - With the Z1 being one of the most popular models. From what I was told, the rate was so good converting to USD, and the rarity\price so high in Japan that the bikes were an absolute bargain, even after shipping. I've also talked a lot with the guy who runs z1enterprises, and have a friend who spent some time with folks involved in the export of Japaneese bikes back to Japan, and importing of parts from Japan; specifically for the CB750 and Z1, there is a huge international trade going on. |
