Even 2k is high. I followed the TW market for a number of years and that's a $1500 bike, tops. Then again, sometimes they find someone that doesn't know anything and get a lucky sale, maybe he's counting on that.

KBB is entirely disconnected from the market. For any kind of vehicle. It means nothing.

(Although no way the bike in question is worth $5300 )

I bought a bike once at KBB price, it was a smokin deal and the dood stood firm on his price. After I paid him I asked why the odd price ($2,235)................he said he looked it up on KBB and that was the price for the bike in excellent condition

he seems to be pricing it based on the low mileage, but once bikes reach a certain age, that's not such a great thing.. I've owned three LC4's and love em, but yeah, that's at least a grand more then I would consider paying.. I'd offer somewhere around $3,500 and top out at $4k.. it's obviously hit the ground too, that amount of damage to the tank couldn't have been from simply falling off the trailer unless the trailer was moving

So, KBB has a purpose after all: just point to it and tell the seller you are willing to give top dollar. That way he won't know you screwed him.

KBB's consumer facing arm has one purpose: To help dealers get cheap trade-ins.

Really. Read up on it. Compare KBB to what things are actually moving off of CL at. Compare KBB to Edmunds.
