Digging deep there Ken, those internet sales guys stand to make a huge profit if it goes for their asking price eh?

I'm impressed that you found that sale from 3 years ago.

But I think it's still a good deal and a cool bike.
How much is shipping from Alabama?
New tires, battery, registration, carb clean, all fluids?
And if it's your job to buy and sell bikes, this is a decent profit.
I wouldn't pass it up just because someone paid $700 for it 3 years ago.

Just playing the devil's advocate here. But I did forward it to a buddy who is looking for a cool dual sport.

BTW, this thread is awesome. Subscribed.

Here's the thing, it's kickstart only, parts are expensive and hard to find, and they don't have the best reputation, especially the early years. The price is also a lot of money when you consider you could get a much newer plated XR650R (also kick only obviously) for the same money.

I've also seen a lot of early 620s at around half the price, which seems more appropriate.

Not saying it wouldn't be a fun bike, but at $2k+, and 17+ years old, there is a lot of competition.

The asking price is directly proportional to the volume of crack smoked.

$2500 for a '96 620..

Finding it was simple. I just Googled the VIN.

As for the question of "How much is...?" I would say, probably not $1800. And, the ad did not say that any of those things had been done.

Speaking of what I would say: my only comment about the bike was, "Hmmm."

No chrome to polish so it's got that going for it.

1. I really hope the first picture is a stock internet pic and not the D-bag that's trying to sell that bike. It's a good ad, but that pic is horrible. Don't put yourself on the bike you're trying to sell. If I'm trying to pick up a girl, I don't want to see a picture of her last boyfriend.

B. I can not stop laughing at the 2nd picture the seller posted:

For some reason this hit my funny bone. Rossi telling Hayden how he won a race. Oh, Sh!z.

Based on the second paragraph of the ad I'm guessing it's the OP in the first photo...

In fact, this bike will actually make you a better person. Try it. First, look in the mirror. See that normal person with the cool just slipping away as the years pass by? Now, say the words, "My Ducati" Go ahead, - Say it! There. Now look in the mirror again.
