Read my mind. If I close my eyes and think "dirt bike", it's what I see....not a specialized rally horse, or a vintage road bike with knobbies.

IMO, if Yamaha re-introduced these they would sell heaps! The XTZ600 Tenere was a good'un as well. I had one back in 1986-87... excellent motorcycle.

Not going to bother posting a picture, but without a doubt, the best looking dirt bike off all time was also the first REAL dirt bike you could actually buy and ride everywhere:

1968

The Yamaha DT-1 Enduro was introduced. The world's first dual purpose motorcycle which had on & off-road capability. Its impact on Motorcycling in the USA was enormous.

Second pick would have to be the BSA Gold Star. A classis beauty. Non of these new bikes are even close IMO.

All these new Dakar style bikes look a little goofy to me with all the plastic hanging all over them, and the weird vertical flat front fairings.........?

Best LOOKING "dirt" bike is NOT synonymous with BEST "dirt" bike. For looks I like the Rally bikes and classics with knobbies.

You have done an excellent job with your Scrambler, NICE BIKE!
I had an 06 Scrambler and only kept it for a short time. Stock it is not worthy of dirt or street. That being said it's look keeps calling me but after the money spent on suspension and performance mods it would be in the same price range as the F800GS I am considering.
