...I think I will get on the KLR in the morning and head up towards Galeton to preview BYOB. Maybe I can find enough good roads on my own to actually lead a ride..... that would be something new.

Why don't you grab the PA tag while you're at it. It's on Rt 44 at Pine Hill Summit. http://advrider.com/forums/showpost....ostcount=11866

Well I rode all the way up to Galeton yesterday. I meandered west to pick up Jax's route from Baltimore. Hit some dirt along the way.

144 is not dirt, however. Still a good road. Man it was overcast and chilly yesterday. Late in the afternoon I pulled into a scenic overlook on 44 to make myself a coffee and put my winter gloves on.

Rode all the way home today - much warmer - but I did not get around to the tag. Looks like I would have been bruced in any case.

Had a good time hanging with the HD riders and their ladies at the Ox Yoke Inn last night. Met the owners at dinner - nice people. Taught them how to make Michelle's Bourbon Slushies so that we can have them next weekend at BYOB. Dinner (prime rib) was great and breakfast was also great. The rooms are not much to look at but they are clean and comfy.
No wonder this is a regular spot for BYOB.

There were also a couple of guys on RT1200s that I was talking to at breakfast this morning. They invited me to ride with them, which I did, all the way down to Lancaster.

Looking forward to BYOB next week. I may try to meet up with Jax and the Clown to ride up with them on Thursday.

If you want to get started earlier, I'll be at the Around the Clock Diner in York/39.984281,-76.727354 at 6:30 Thursday morning.

I'm riding north to Harrisburg from there on I-83 to US-15 to PA-44 to PA-144.

Hoping to make Galeton for lunch.

What's your hurry?
....and is that the diner we went to at Skyclads' ride? The one where T couldn't keep his food down?

Mainly will be there that early to beat the Baltimore rush hour.

That's the diner.

I might take US-322 to PA-144 if US-15 sucks too bad.

once you cross the river, 322 is an excellent road. You'll be lonely.

Too easy to haul ass. DAMHIK. There are several places the State boys hang out. One cool thing is that PA (bless its heart) still doesn't have 2 way radar. Yes campers, no moving radar. They have to wait for you and be actively

15 is my rain route.

Cool Tom!!! Any complaints about the route?

I've got both routes in the GPS. 44 between 15 and 144 looks very cool on the topo. 15 looks nice too the way it follows the river. I'll probably go that way.

I'd hook up with you FFs but I don't want to deal with the traffic. Or gravel on the loaded ST.

I used to drive up that way (on 15) to deer camp each year.

Here's a slightly different route that has a bit more twisty stuff.

Wayne I think I'll shoot for meeting you in York. If you're not in too much of a hurry Wayne I would recommend this.

Jax, no complaints on your route. The gravely parts were nice, roads all in good shape. I'd ride the Tiger on them no problem. The fully loaded KLR (with the stiffer spring from Cogent) and the new heidies was fine.
