It was going to be 7 timed specials, in the end it was 5 special tests, 2 on the first loop and 3 on the 2nd.

So. what is the likelihood that I could get a noob tour some day of the Rowher Flats area?

I usually ride alone, but I'm not too keen on exploring a new area solo.

ditto... I have to get into my top end and hopefully stop gushing oil all over the place before I make it up there, but I'm a complete dirt noob and would like a tour.

How strict are the rangers and CHP up there WRT tires? I have some non-DOT knobbies stretched around my wheels right now... will that be a problem?

post up here like you did and join folks for a ride.
it's an OHV area of all levels. green= easy, blue= intermediate, black diamond= hard, double black diamond= really hard, red diamond= not maintained really hard.

there is plenty of forest road to have fun on. just watch the blind corners for on coming traffic.

If you give them a reason to pull you over they will probably check your tires. Remember all public agencys have had their budgets cut drasticly are are looking for a way to recop the money. Are you able to ride weekdaays? I'd be more than happy to lead some nOOBs around Rowher in a skill building/confidence ride.
