Risk of head-ons up there on that main fire road are bad enough, now everybody is going to get squeezed into a smaller space because of the off shoots closing? Yeah, seems about right

Seriously it looks like they are prepping to pave 6N08 (artesian) down the back. A Prius could get up. And rowher trail down the back is cut up very loose with big rocks. Makes it harder downhill.

6N19/18 across boquet is also all graded and loose soil. If it rains again it will be a foot of mud, like all the offshoots.

I'd like to think they are just fixing what didn't need to be fixed but I doubt it.

With the time change I plan on riding more during the week after work than the weekend. I'll hit you up when I plan on rolling out. Should be in SA1 by about 5 give or take.

Fire break: Calfire image

So the bike riders made a fire break at Rowher and maintained it vegetation free for over 30 years and now they want it closed
Don't rag on the local Rangers, I doubt it was their idea. Probably some twit with the words 'resource' 'management' and 'specialist' in his job description.

I agree. As tuff just pointed out, you can't blame the rangers, it isn't their call. But unfortunately for them, they are probably going to get an earful from everybody that is a regular up there. These aren't little single track offshoots that aren't exactly legal, these are roads you could drive a full sized truck down. I'm just curious as to why this happened.

I haven't been out there for many weeks. The last time I spoke to the FS, they were done for the season due to lack of moisture. Those bypasses have been there as long as I have been going there, 1975. I'm shure they were there long before that.
WOULD BE GREAT TO SEE A STRONG SHOWING OF THE RFBK THIS SUNDAY! STAGE 1, 8:00AM! LET'S FIND OUT WHO WE NEED TO SPEAK TO AND END THE MADDNESS!
