P.S. the gates can be pushed open with the front tire.
The road of death for the F800GS was Stillman Valley road over by Youngsport. You can find some nice paved road and short dirt hops around there. Not the best place to go by any means, but good to go explore for a couple hours...as long as you pay attention to road signs.

That's all well and good... depending on how you define "other people." Good news is these "other people" will let you know - right here in this thread of awesomeness.

When you show up for a ride:
If you see a rattle-can-flat-black KLR prepare to get snookered. If you see a blue and bronze weestrom prepare to get punned. If you see a Harley then, God help us, Tom needs new tires or your in the wrong place.

Whaddaya know? Throw a sealed aluminum can full of PVC cement in a fire and it'll blow up. Sends little fires all through the air. Nifty.

That's safe around tents right?

You need goggles.

Try it once without and you will go buy goggles the next day.

Touching the ground is over rated. Don't stop.

Hmmm. Litre class sportbikes. My spidey senses tell me we might have us a sandbagger.

There are smaller goggle products that work well enough for riding dirt roads, IMO. Even regular-looking sunglasses with gaskets can work. I rarely wear my full MX goggles. But you gotta have something that seals around your eyes or you're gonna have problems out there.

Just bought a Lower Seat for my GSA after a couple of trips with a borrowed one. Found it really nice to have a little extra knee bend when stopping off-road. But a 500 mile day suddenly felt more like a 600 mile day. Buying an Alaska Buttpad.
