Yeah, I saw that thread while searching for the tires.

Somebody told me the tire manufacturers often make motorcycle tires only in April. So maybe they'll start hitting the shelves soon. And hopefully they don't suck!

By making the 170 only they are gonna try to get the TKC market...With the increased top speed, I wonder bout TKCs on the Wasserboxer. They are rated 100 mph and most of here push them into the 120s....wonder how well they hold up in the 130s???

There are a few adv touring bikes that use that tire size. Frankly, I think the TKC needs some competition. But for real competition, the tires have to be available. Continental apparently makes enough tires for the market place. But Micheline only announces the tire and either can't make the numbers needed or sells them all to BMW or KTM. I don't know which, but its a PITA to file a Anakee 3 or a wild in the sizes I need.

According to that other thread, GSA's in Oz come with the wilds. Here every GSA I've heard of came with Anakee 3's. Maybe the French don't like the American's and so they don't want to sell their new tire here?

Was disappointed in the mileage of Karoo 3, but liked everything else about it. Maybe these will offer a little better mileage.

Yeah looks like around 2500 miles out of my Karoo 3, but an awesome off-road tire for the pigs. Usually get around 6500- 8500 miles out of a original Tourance rear to give you a comparison in mileage for me ! Too bad the Karoo 3 is more expensive than a Tourance but less mileage.

Well, the final word on the Anakee Wilds is they don't have plans to sell them here.

FML, stupid cheese eatin' surrender monkeys...

2500 is good, I got 1700 out of the rear Karoo 3 on my 12GS. It had Tourance EXPs when I got it, switched to the Karoo3, super tire off road, now I'm trying the Tourance. The front Karoo3 looks wore pretty good, but cost and miles ended my love for the Karoo3 on the rear.

I'm going to try some TKC's. Probably a TKC front and a Trail attack 2 for the rear. I used to use the Anakee 2's, but I haven't heard anything super great about the 3's and the trail attacks my GS came with have been pretty good. Plus they are available now.

I normally run a TKC front and the Tourance in the rear. Get 12000-14000 out of the TKC front and like I said earlier, 6500-8500 out of a Tourance rear. This combination works fairly well in most off-road conditions other than deep sand or mud.

I am telling you, the only compliment to a TKC front is a Mitas E07 rear. You will get 6-7 thousand miles out of a rear tire.

Durelle Racing out of Colorado is online to be a dealer for them. Here is the email I received from the owner today.

Hi Bradley,

Shipment was to be sent middle of this month. Just waiting to find out when our order will be completed. At this time I suspect we should see tires Mid May.

I'll keep your contact info and send out emails when I get more specific dates.

Thank you,

Davey
