TXJames, I'm gonna let them ride with you. ;) I may bring both bikes. Big and slow or much bigger and still slow. Decisions, decisions. Can't find the right headlight but I did find a cool mod to the existing faring. I'm thinking about f'in that up next. ;)

I got a new toy, A 1981 YZ 250. My latest resteration project. It came in to work the other day. I still can't beleve what people will throw away. Someone did a real nice paint job on it, NOT. Whats the best way to get paint off plastic???? I can sand blast the rest. Is it safe to sand blast the jug and head??? Outside of course. All it is missing is the front break lever. Not bad for free......

Brings back old memories. I had a 77 RM250 and a buddy had a 79 YZ250, great old bike in their time.

To Tex road whore

I dont know your circumstanses, but, you can clean the head and jug with a fitting for a drillmoter. Picture a 3" dia. wheel hub with the spokes about 3" long and they are loose. they fling around and and knock everything off . Just use the tips for best effect. Looks like sand blasting. Use gloves and eyeguards. Then if you are really pickey --- grind/file the edges of the fins flat and smooth. Looks like a fun project. I got my DT1 in a basket and took it to every nut and bolt and even ground the welds and filled in with bondo. But you know that I am sick!

I believe a power sprayer would remove most of the dirt and paint too...I have a good one if you need it...you know my number

Dry? Sure. Wet? Nah. I'd rather bust my ass on smoother roads. ;) It hurts less.

Looks about the same as it was when Mudclod and I did the ride. We came down the ruts.

Try that bad boy in the spring when all those boulders are covered in slimy moss, theres a running stream of water down the far left, the path James took is wet i slippery bust your ass clay, and the far right side used to have some tree branches that used to slap you in the face right when your about to close your eyes nailing the gas and hoping for the best.

Whoa boys - I didn't say it was easy or couldn't be harder, just that it didn't look really any different. I thought Ghost posted up in the past that somebody attempted to box blade it and made it worse...

I'm riding tomorrow. Heading out to the LC and test riding the route I've got marked from the LC to the Circle T and then riding Mr2mch's original dirt route back to the LC, then home. Post up if you're interested in meeting up with me somewhere along the route.
