Well said. I think in the other two boxes, he has a complete bike. I have just a few tools, 2 tubes, and almost enough levers to change a tire. Oh, and a quart of oil 'cause I ride a KLR.

Maybe I should carry a spare pair of undies in case the trail gets really tough!

Yep, I've got zip ties, tire irons, tire patch kit, 2 spare tubes, metric sockets, allen wrenches, Phillips and flat head screw driver, vice grips, pliers, 3 straps for either tying down or towing the bike, electric air pump that hooks up to the battery, spark plug puller since the XR650L is a pain to get to, duct tape, electrical tape, flash light, toilet paper to do my duty in the wilderness, sun screen, wet wipes, ibuprofen, water and beef jerky.

And I fit it all into these 3 bags

Cortect Tank Bag - Strap Mount

X.U.D. Padded Waterproof Duffel

Tusk Fender Tube Pack with Tire Irons (I carry more tire irons than what comes with this)

What I still need to get:
  • Bailing wire
  • Trama Kit

Hi guys!! This morning wasn't too bad except for my finger tips on the aluminum levers! I think it would be good to wrap them in leather or something when it is this cold!

I had to take a couple tries to get a picture cuz it was blinking at me!

Ender, you are my hero! BTW, the service light on the dash was for you to get your HEAD serviced! Apparently you don't know, but BMW makes a fine line of cages too.

Haha, yeah it is a little crazy to be riding in 14.9 deg weather but I have to test out my cold weather gear sometime!

Also, I do all my own service and my dealer said they are the only ones who can turn off the service indicator when they read the computer with their special software... I don't feel like paying them a bunch of money to do non-value added work on my bike just because I don't have access to the software. If anyone knows something about this let me know.

Big Bend Feb... keep me informed but I want to save my precious vacation time for an extended trip when it is ~70 deg outside

It was a balmy 26* when I rode in this morning. My heated gear was just hitting it's stride when I got to work so I was tempted to keep riding!
