Rear tire's gone....gotta get one on the way.
BT023 -5K not much better than the ADV types previously used.
Yeah, I saw it at that last Tuesday in Arlington. That's why the roads are clogged with SUVs up here (and just generally clogged).

One of those GS's is mine. My Triple Black is setting there waiting on farkles to arrive.
I was supposed to pick it up yesterday but mama BMW pooched the order and we are still waiting on parts.
Maybe next weekend. I want them to install everything and then I ride again. This is a replacement for The GS I totaled Labor Day.

....&......ANOTHER BIRTHDAY HAPPY ...this time for you veriest....even though a day late.

WORN OUT REAR TIRE
Got me another set of Shinko's (yeah..I kno what I said before) comin this week so I can break 'em in before the rally. This will actually be the 1st time for me to run both front & rear together. I'm gonna pull the frt Pilot Road because of a low speed bounce. My tire issues seem to have been widespread & various among brands.

Phew...they let me back in.

Great day of riding...Texas 136 down to Comstock is one of the most remote roads I've been on. Definitely felt alone out there.

I've been told in the past that the boarder patrol doesn't like people to be snapping photos of the crossings. Anyone give you grief about it?

They have wifi in this cell...so I don't they are THAT mad.

I was pretty discreet with my iPhone.

Very nice guys at the border...could tell I was just a kid having some fun.

Interesting to see the checkpoints on 90W and 277N...got stopped going north on the way home. Again very nice guys that liked my bike a lot.

Sorry you had tire problems Sunday , Rod. Looked like a great day to ride. If I can't get on the bike pretty soon, I won't be riding a loop at the Rally. I'm gonna need some seat time.

Schick , I enjoy those lonely roads. There are some gravel roads ending near Comstock that will really get you "out there".

I got stopped last year in NM at a check point. They asked a few questions and sent me on my way. Guess they kind of figured out I didn't have any illegals in my panniers and any good drug smuggler would use a vehicle that you could actually carry lots of drugs in.

Sunday....Tire problems?....not necessarily.....More of a..I CAN"T STOP RIDING problem. Just that the rear tire only goes for about 5K on this "smooth" Texas pavement. I think I remember putting the BT023 on just before our July Hill Country ride..& that was the week after the 4TH,wasn't it.

Let's see ....do the math..3mos per tire @ 5K & allowing for bad weather....say 4mos generously. $400 per year in rear tires + another $100 for the 1 front tire = $500 for $15K miles.
STILL....FUN FER THE MONEY
