Wow. Between all the talk about big trips to faraway places (and meeting the 4j's with their B.C. connection) I stumbled across a couple of links. Here's the first.

http://www.motorcycleexplorer.com/

And the second. http://www.dualsportbc.com/forums/

Enjoy.

Oooh! Here's another! https://www.destinationhighways.com/...ure/3video.htm

Now that's what I'm talking about! I sure hope to get there. Someday. To those that are planning their dream trip, wherever it might be....I'm envious. Like it says on my profile...B.C. is my dream destination. Plenty of paved twisties and rugged dirt roads with little to no traffic. A whole summer up there would be the capper for me.

I can dream, can't I?

Yes, but you should do more than dream. Get out there while you can.

BTW, sorry if my posting has caused you missed work time and thanks for all the neat links.

You're welcome. I am nursing a kidney that is in full revolt this morning so no work yet other than a couple of short calls. The dream ride links are a pleasant diversion.

As to the admonition to get out there while I still can, this weekend sure had points that reminded me of my new limitations. Rocky moonscapes, compromised fingers and wrist and a 600 pound pig bike was an experience in damn near instantaneous forearm "pump".

After I left the Ghost Ranch, I lit the fuse and flew home at warp speeds. I had a tailwind and it helped me get a new record speed on the Big Ugly. My body will still let me ride fast and corner hard. For how much longer? I don't know.

Don't know if he made it all the way to Deadhorse, but the AC is about a 1/3 of the way there.

Whoa looks like he has me beat with scooter touring, I only put about 1900 miles on mine through SE Asia. In all fairness I wasn't even on a genuine Honda, but a Chinese knockoff ("Sanda") of that bike.
Pic is of a rest stop in Laos, between Luang Prabang and Vang Vieng, some of the best riding through the mountains ever!

lol. I was thinking the same thing but you may have noticed that I haven't had my daughter post any of my street ride videos. Even when I think I've done something, the video says I haven't.

DeBinChe also did his trip on a taiwanese knockoff called a Symba according to others posting on his RR.

While he might have gone further, your ride covered more exotic ground than he did.

Currently minus 40's and not forecasted to not get above minus 30 all week. Will be there till Friday, then voyage back to Houston. Anyhow, I've been to Deadhorse/Prudhoe Bay by plane this past summer. The views from the plane were spectacular, but once you cross the Brooks Range onto the Northern Tundra it's an ugly sight. Nevertheless, I have been there and seen it. Spent a few nights in Anchorage and a day trip to Seward and actually ran into some inmates at the hotel I was staying in that had just came back from making the trip. They were glad they went, but said the gravel was brutal on them. Anyhow, I hope you get to go make that epic trip and get back to share the story and pics. BTW, I wish I could have made it this past weekend. I'm sure it would have been a pleasure to meet yall.
Let me know when ya get back...figure we will do it again before they put us back on Burn Ban Besides..several of us might accost ya about Alaska...They hiring

I can't get over this guy having 30 gallons of gas on board his Goldwing. Now I'm just waiting on someone to add a roof to one.

He electronics are cool too. If I wasn't on my phone I'd post a pic of his instrument panel. 0.o

=======================

I logged about 120 miles on the reborn GS today with no issues. I'm hoping to take it out for a longer ride later in the week, or maybe Saturday, to really ring her out.

The heated jacket was nice this morning but it was only 37 degrees. Thanks to everyone who offered advice on the heated clothes. I'm really happy so far.

That build was over the top. Apparently this guy has got a lot of money and patience to design and execute a build like that. It looked like it had everything.
