Harley day was loads of fun. Met Habitual Violator in Glen Rose and went on a bunch of Rod Roads, some of which Bart had never been on. Odin Chapel was his highlight for the day. BTW the snot crossing at Rough Creek is still slicker than owlshit. It may only be 4 feet across but you will still bust your ass if you don't show it proper respect.

Got to LC a little early but Waylon came buy and said they would open a little early. Maybe 15 of us there at the time. I saw a blue FJR two-up, full atgatt, pull in and confidently execute the sand hazard in the parking lot. I told Bart "I bet I know who that is." Sure enough, MacDaddy. He and his neighbor Jamie.

Had a real nice lunch. Great conversation. Lots of chuckles. Great food as usual. Since Kathy's is history, LC is hands-down my favorite motorcycle spot. It never disappoints and is usually outstanding. And, around here, that's the best twisty road riding we have. You can do 2:30 to 3 hours and never go anywhere. Yeah. Yeah. I know. Rod can do that and you'll still be in the parking lot.....but I digress. ;)

Got to hear a little about Steve's recent trip to Austria, Poland, Slovakia, and Hungary with his wife on a rented RT. Damn. That sounded nice. I want to hear more and see some pics.

Fun day. Tomorrow I'll see if I can forget to torque down my rear wheel and have a major accident. A man needs a plan.

How do you get 20mm of lower seat height, when the stocker (which is not a low, it is standard) is less than 20mm thick (high) to begin with? Is it a narrow thing? I have never had a issue trying to get a bike lower...Not touching the suspension or anything like that, that was the point of the R...Maybe I need some of those boots with a goldfish in the heels .
Its only $170! Can you get a whole seat for that and will it be comfortable? 20mm is only 3/4 of an inch.

just humming along....

...Goldfenderrrr....the bike with the Midas touch.......

(hmmmm I wonder if they have a muffler for it)

Rode down to the Q with Ghost on Friday & hit some FMs on the east side on the way...(Mostly retraced my route to Ron's Fish Fry at Smithville)..A few mostly paved CRs too, after Lockart. Found some pretty decent ones (for that area) to mark on the map. Avoided any downpours....(even though Doty thought we were headin directly into the big one! )

Hung around TricePilot's till about 11:30 Friday nite...The Fish Fry was pretty late but Andrew T did a number on fryin up all the goodies in that Wok...really tasty. Carl (Whiskey Smith) offered up his place in Seguin for a crash pad Friday night....Nice place Carl.....interesting layout....& the garage has all the right stuff...(bikes!) in it.

Back at TricePilot's Sat mornin for the breakfast "fatties" (stuffed sausage on a biscuit) after a quick ride thru the countryside with Carl. Some of the CRs in the immediate area around San Antone & the "burbs" are really nice too.
Then it was finally lunchtime.....The Q was DEEEEELICIOUS. Phil & Scott did an excellent job watchin over the pits for the final results.
& deserts!! A table full o pies cobblers brownies...etc. OH YEAH ( A good piece of pecan pie is interesting with a pulled pork chaser)

Finally left TricePilot's with JD (Schizz) around 3:30 or 4 . We headed west thru the muddling mayhem of I35 & all the attending one after anothers....Once thru that stuff the roads were fairly unclogged & we ran thru only some light rain here & there. Kinda skirted 281 by weaving east & west on the closer CRs & made it up to Johnson City before sloggin 281 to Marble Falls. Then a quick coffee break for JD & we were back on some more CRs headed for Bertram where he split off.....rollin toward home.

The usual route north to Belton /Waco after that for me.... I rolled in about 8:45......IT WAS GOOD!!

I hosted a TX BBQ dinner for 30 ADVers from the Northwoods area of MN. They all seemed to really like some great BBQ brought from TX. A couple of photos from the dinner an be found in the Central Regional site under MN Northshore Shindig.

Alot of them were curious about riding in TX and hope to see some of them here when we return from our summer stay up here along Lake Superior. Record high temps.here make me wish I was back in TX. Weather looks alot better than last year.

Also brought plenty of Shiner Beer which they consumed and enjoyed. The Dublin Dr.Pepper was a huge hit. They have never had those,of course. The fact that is was all FREE may have been a factor....

Hope to make this RTB 12 rally this year.

I'm not dead

but the Bimmer is for the time being.

clutch took a shit on the way to Houston last weekend. tore into it and found that it had been converted to a VW clutch setup. I am in the process of putting it back to stock.

Lots and lots of bikes out this morning. Group of twenty or more at the stop and rob in Hico plus a bunch on the road. Nice morning to ride.

My Little Harley is really running and turning well. Very pleased.

And with my speed sensitive ankle bracelet in place, I set another new record mpg. 37.75.
