On the Austin riding side, most the Austin folks here tend to ride in the dirt more and I figured a Bandit rider would be looking for more paved riding.
Id be into riding on some light trails, mostly pavement, though, since I'd like to keep my bike in great shape for summer touring. Do I just follow this thread to find out about nearby rides? I'll check out TWT, too.
Thanks!

Okay, I know since I went to the source and asked. He thought it was funny that somebody showed up to buy and bike and brought his lawyer.
Well, that was not on the program. I was just a fanboy once we hit LS. As I used to say when criticized for "actively" watching my kid play basketball, "if it's not vicarious, it's not really living". ;)

Yup. I have a full BMW suit. Dirt bike helmet. A video cam. A BMW. But the only part of that video that looks even vaguely familiar to me is when he is pushing against the beam. Just change the beam to a heavy bump gate. The rest of it? Not so much.

James and I saw him in FW.

Sunset on the BRP. 120 miles with not a single car (or cop) in front of me. A religious experience of sorts.

The off shoots for the peaks were still closed (the sides of the main roads still had snow) but goddam what a road.

I forgot about the recent snow. But it is a sweet road in the remote areas.

WANTED: CENTRAL TEXAS ADVers

In other news, KilLeR did not blowthefuck up on the way to Clifton. I tried. So, I guess she's good to go. Well. Except for that whole "no brakes at all" thang .

Ok. Now KilLeR has shitty KLR brakes which is livable. Barely. No brakes? Not so much. So I am not bikeless.

In fact, she's running pretty dang good. For the 34 hp bone stock rocket ship she is.

Anybody going anywhere on a bike tomorrow? I don't really want to ride to Llano at thirty till dawn to meet the TWT camping crew.
