I find ESA really handy down south where I change settings on the fly alot. Especially coming off twisties (Sport mode) into a small town with topes (Comfort mode).

Yup. If I was "lesser" man I would consider it. ;) But since I was not within their design parameters I am better off sticking with custom.

Yep. I've read that 175 lbs. is considered "normal" so I got 20 lbs. more to lose. It would be a shame to give up ESA in my opinion but the new bike will tell the story.

At my weight I set the ESA preload to one helmet, one bag for solo riding without bags.

Basically the middle package works for me, but the spoked wheels are an option.
Fortunately BMW has employed professional marketing types that have figured out better names for those packages. For the record, the packages (and MSRPs) are:

Standard ($16,600)
Premium ($17,990)
Premium Plus ($18,870)

Wire spoked wheels are $500 mo money.

For my money, I like the premium plus package over the premium because it has the tire pressure monitor and LED headlight and doesn't have the chrome exhaust.

So it's a mandatory option the way they're doing it.
Not all of their models are coming with the wire wheels. The red one expected in next week does not.

I think they've sold most of their 2013 inventory already, even though its not in yet. If you want to order one, you'll need to wait till 2014 model year. Apparently they're popular. They might sell you the demo, but get down there before SOG takes it out...

Its nice if you ride it with radically different loads frequently. If you ride a lot with the same load, maybe not.

All I can tell you is that Gary and Robert both said they're ordering all the GSW's with spokes. It might be they had an allocation that came with cast wheels. Definitely something to confirm prior to signing. As cheap as they are as an option I wouldn't pass on spokes even for just street use. Them rims are TOUGH.

Not to worry. It's already had a hard break-in.

Radically different roads was my point. That's where ESA truly shines by my experience. Preload must be set from a standing idle. Suspension mode can be set on the run. I often move from sport mode on the paved mountain twisties to normal mode in dirt to comfort mode for topes. Sometimes use comfort mode in dirt, as well. Just wish they had a better shock option to work with ESA. I'd take that upgrade any day.
