I was in Greece a few years back and remember thinking it looked like you could ride to the top of any of the mountains. Of course from a distance they look easier, a bit like the video if you didn't watch it in HD. The ground 20 metere in front of the looked smooth but as it came closer to the camera you culd see all the rocks.

I did hire a bike on the island of Rhodes and got stuck in soft sand that was also littered with rocks when the engine stalled and the magic button lost it's magic. No kick starter either, 43c and it took me a good 1/2hour pushing and shoving to get it to where I could cluth start it. My mouth was so dry my tounge was sticking to the roof of my mouth, I ended up sucking on a pebble to create saliva to stop it, something I had seen on some survival show as a kid.
