very nice craftsmanship and this just goes to show how we can get ideas from eachother to do some modding on our bikes. great job and can't wait to see some pics of it in a race or rally!

Thanks! I doubt you'll see this bike in a race as I have the KX450F for that. I'd love to race a rally but they are either too far to travel or just way out of my budget.

You should talk to Charlie about DVR next year...

As close to Dakar as you're going to get in North America.

It's not a race, but the experience is as real as you want to make it. The year I went it was 1100 roadbooked offroad miles in 5 days from Bishop CA to Yuma AZ (it changes year to year).

I'd jump all over that if it wasn't so far from KY.

Jeff, you're pulling our leg!
There you are, calling this a budget build and that you won't take part in a rally, while offroad news websites show your bike in the KTM factory squad at the Dakar! Why didn't you tell us?!

(I have no idea how this popped up on mototribu. This guy used to have great hi-res rally pics but only offers small photos this year, I'm still checking every now and then, though.)

The mototribu guy is actually a low-post member here and used to post great Dakar pics in the years past. Browse his site for great hi-res pics. This year he didn't show up on ADV and doesn't seem to have a press account. The rest of his pics is standard lo-res material from ktmimages.com.

He probably got them mixed up somehow. But I didn't know what to make out of it for a second when I saw it.
