Thanks catfish and dragon! I've got my new Driod phone so if I can get a signal I can take a pic with it and upload it to smugmug and this site i think. Maybe I should do a test run lol. Worse comes to worse I will e-mail it to Catfish to post for me since I have his e-mail lol hope he doesn't mind lol I don't plan on making posting during rides a habit!

Here is my trusty F8 ready to go, I took this pic 5 mins ago. My poor 08 SV650S looks sad because she knows she is going to be sitting alone for a few days. Last trip I went on the lowjack/whatever drained the battery on the SV so I was kinda sad when I wanted to ride the SV on the weekend after being on the beemer for 9 days strait.

Note the dirt, I don't plan on cleaning it other than the maintenenace stuff before I leave so I can't claim that dirt in later pics

I will be out wandering around in the National Forest Friday.

Not sure how far north you will make it Friday...Wave if you see a white F650 GS Dakar.. Oh and be sure to bring warm clothes... It is supposed to be chilly at night.

Will do! Hope to see you out there! I am not really used to cold temps since we rarely get below freezing here in Dallas but I have some layers and I know how to build a fire survival style if need be lol (actually I kinda try to do that most of the time when camping to hone my skills).

Your welcome to email me anything you need to.
(ok you dirty old FF's I didn't mean that kind of stuff)
I'll be leaving out Saturday about noon. But I got email access most anyplace I go in the truck, might be a few hours before I get to it.

IF..... We get the brakes done quickly tomorrow morning on the trailer I might actually get some riding in. I should've tinkered with the bike this afternoon but after dinner I fell asleep on the couch and snored till 6pm. Guess I was tired.

Hi guys! I just finished my mre after setting up camp here at cove lake camp site in ozark nf. I was surprised to see I have a 3g signal here so idesided to update lol. Roads so far are awesome but the big day is tomorrow! There is only one other group here and they are just out of sight. A few minutes ago they yelled real loud like they were scaring away a bear and back at the gas station I met an old guy who said his son killed a bear here recently while hunting. As I write this I am looking around to make sure the bear doesn't sneak up on me lol

AR black bear are usually pretty scared of people.
132 from 7 to 9 is a really scenic road for the twin cylinder crowd.

Cool!
I wouldn't worry about bears... A1fa and I were there Halloween night and had the place to ourselves... He kept hearing things... but i think he was just trying to create an element of fear...

Which way are you headed tomorrow? Lunch in Oark should be on your agenda. Be careful if you are using Zecatfishes routes...

You will be the testpilot.... As he hasn't seen if they really exist himself!

But they are worth what you paid for them!

I rode my bicycle today.. but may burn some gas tomorrow, looks like nice weather.

You're not far from some good riding. I don't know which way you're heading but MT Magazine ohv trails are good. Look for Sorghum Hollow Horse Camp to your Northeast. The trail crosses there.

Check your PM's

South Eastern OK has some great places to ride too.
I sent a correction gpx file. I was going over things and found a section that needed revamping.

Ride safe and we all are looking forward to seeing your pictures and report.

Bill you just need to find some better forest maps.

Hi guys!! I am back home safe and comfy at my computer. I just finished the 2 day 1000 mile trip and I can't wait to get back. Both days I did a bunch of dirt roads (probably 250-300 miles total for the trip) and last night at sundown (6pm) I decided to test my endurance and ride all the back to Dallas. I pulled a 600 mile ride yesterday with over 11 hours moving time! I am working on the pictures right now and hopefully will start the ride report today.

I used catfish's tracks for some roads but I unfortunately I didn't put a big dent into them due to time constraints. That means more for later lol. You will have to read the ride report to see how it turned out lol

Here are some teaser maps:

Overall map for both days:

The more interesting part:

BTW most of you guys sent me stuff in the Ozark NF but the Ouachita NF has lots of cool roads too!

Also, I met another ADVer at Oark during lunch on day two (AMAZING BURGER!). He was on a 990 adventure, I am terrible with names, send me a PM or something if you see this and we should ride some day.

Thanks,
Ender

That section you rode over to Oark, is actually part of the TAT.
How was the road crossing the Buffalo up by Whittaker Point? FSR 1410, I think it is. Some of the guys have 4x4'd it.

Glad you made it home safe.
Like to hear how you liked the F800GS when the going got rough too.

I'll be back online around 10pm tonight. Dothan Al at the moment heading to Tampa.
