Actually I dont come here often. yes I am Patrick Trahan. Glad you enjoy the interview yesterday. I hope that more people know more about Dakar! It was my goal.

Kevlar - Carbon Fiber tank. 4 tank a total of 35 liters
Plus a carbon Fiber-kevlar skid plate with 3 liter of water

Good luck! Sweet looking bike.

In 98, after only 10 hours total of motorcycle experience, I sent my KLR650 (which was totally not adapted for rallying) in Granada in order to participate in the Atlas Rallye in Morroco. I had several crashes a day, loosing half the bike in the desert, getting towed by a camel to start the kickless bike and winning the trophy for perseverance and I also became the first Canadian ever to participate in an African Rally Race.

All I can say is "wow"! I saw The Hour interview and was impressed. Nice job. I will certainly be typing in your number when I am looking through the race stats.

If you don't mind me asking, how much money and time goes into that level of modification (excluding the price of the bike)?
