2005 KTM 540 EXC

$3890 Would take an enclosed trailer 6'+ x12'-14' on partial trade.

Bike is properly tagged in FL

Engine built by Dave Hopkins 180 hours ago and freshened up with only 8 hours of use.

Current rebuild included-
New Wossner piston and cylinder honed
Crank main bearing upgraded to angular contact and pressure oiling mod to bearing
MXC 3rd gear swapped

180 hours ago engine rebuild included
KTM 540 kit installed (not an overbored stocker)
Crank was welded and trued
Ball bearing main added
Head rebuilt with oversized Kibblewhites and port matched
Tranny was changed from MXC to EXC

Carb. is still a stock jetted 39mm and cam is the tiny OEM. A bored carb. and larger cam would turn this low end torque machine into a monster if desired for little $. Current setup was built for max reliability for DS use but still makes great power that is easy to ride.

Chassis upgrades include the following-

Renthal bars and grips
ASV levers
Emig triples (20mm as I remember)
Clark 3.2 gallon tank
Devol radiator guards
Exhaust (pant) guard
Exhaust/ radiator heat shield
KTM skid plate
KTM fan kit
Loud Mouth air filter kit with 4 filters
PMB rear rotor guard (not mounted)
Cycra hand guards
12v outlet
Keyed ignition
Trail Tech HID X2 headlight
Trail Tech 100w stator
Trail Tech lighter flywheel(-6oz)
Baja Designs LED tail light
Custom wide low seat
KTM SX (2 stages stiffer than stock) springs installed on shock and forks
Bigger battery and box

Extra parts include-
Rear brake caliper
Sprockets 3 rears in 47,47,42
2 Renthal counters in 15t one still NIB
New shift lever
NIB KTM emergency levers(Plastic to be mounted on chassis)
Stock shock and fork springs
A few gaskets and o rings
Baja Designs halogen headlight with Sylvania bulb
Stock stator
MXC seat pan

Bike is not a garage queen and has been ridden as intended but very well maintained. Front and rear fenders were replaced 8-9 months ago. Radiator shrouds are OEM and graphics are rough and right side shroud is cracked but usable.

All bearings are tight and greased. Wheels were disassembled and trued with antisieze on nipples/spokes.

I don't have a photo host site so unable to post pics. PM an email and i'll send pictures, answer qusetions and a phone # .

CR500 Supermoto and Dirt setup - Love it!

Hey guys. *I'm parting ways with my CR in hopes of getting back into a sportbike. *This is a Florida registered STREET LEGAL HONDA CR500. She's my baby and I have a ton of work, sweat, love, and money sunk into her. *If I can't sell it for what i'm looking for then i'll keep her. *This isn't for the faint of heart and test rides WILL NOT be given without cash in hand. Below is what you'll find with the bike:

Asking Price: *$5,000

- 1997 Honda CR500
- New Zeta fatbars
- New Zeta hand grips
- 1,000 lumen Rigid Industries LED headlight (draws 5 watts)
- Zeta LED brake light
- Trail Tech battery
- Trail tech regulator/rectifier
- 35 Watt Lighting Coil
- On/Off light switch with engine kill switch
- Braided steel front brake line
- New brake pads all the way around
- Warp9 Racing Supermoto wheels
- Warp9 Racing Front Big Brake rotor and caliper relocation bracket
- Trailtech Vapor Speedometer
- Factory Honda Dirt Wheels
- Nearly new dirt knobby tires
- Airbox has been converted into a custom battery box
- White plastics, Red/White plastics, and factory 1997 red/black/white plastics
- 3 Gallon beautiful Black Clarke fuel tank
- Factory Honda white fuel tank
- Pro Moto Billet billet aluminum kickstand
- Black powdercoated frame (much better than the ugly flat white frame)
- 14 tooth front sprocket (new)
- 40 tooth rear sprocket (new)
- Skid plate
- Factory Keihn PK Carb
- Upgraded Keihn PWK Airstriker Carb (installed currently)

I'm absolutely certain there is more to this bike than I'm listing but the list is so long I've forgotten some of it. This is my baby. If you call about it expect me to talk your ear off about it. I built it up this way and LOVE how it rides. Its an absolute monster! I have the title in hand and am ready to sell to the right buyer. If you're looking for a starter bike... THIS IS NOT YOUR BIKE. *The street titling process involved more hoops than I care to jump through again so someone will be saving themselves more headache than they know.

I am asking $5,000 for the bike or would be willing to trade plus $2,000 cash FROM THE BUYER on any of the following bikes:

- KTM 690smc
- KTM 625smc
- Buell Lightning
- SV1000
- Naked v-twin sportbikes
- Naked sporttouring bikes (FZ1, Z1000, etc)
- V-Twin Sportbikes (RC51 and the like)

I DO NOT want cruisers. If you're looking for a trade offer know that if it does not come with $2,000 i'm more than likely not interested... the worst I can say, however, is "no!" Just because you have a bike and $2,000 doesn't mean I'll trade. If I don't like your bike or don't think its worth it I'll decline but I'll be polite about it ;)

Take a look at the pictures below and let me know if you'd be interested. Email me and I'll get back to you with my phone number. *Thanks for looking.

Thanks,
Austin

maybe i'll just start charging for rides. Might be more profitable :) And the powerband kicks in somwhere around the kickstart and dies down when you press the kill switch!!!

Price reduction... $4,500 cash or $2,000 and a sweet dirt bike (or street bike)

Dirtbikes include:

- KTM 2-strokes or 4-strokes (250 minimum for 2-strokes 450 minimum for 4-strokes)
- Yamaha WR450
- Husabergs
- Honda CRF450X (will not take an "R")
- Gas Gas Bikes (maybe)
- YZ250
- CR250
- DRZ400
- TM (anyone actually have one of these?)
- Husqvarna

Be commonsense about it. Don't offer me your 1997 CR250 and $2,000 and think that will work. Your $900 bike wont make the difference. I'm willing to do a trade for one of those but it will cost you more than $2,000.

I would sell it without the street wheels (dirt hoops only) and no extra parts (PJ carb, plastics, etc) for $3,500. Any takers at that price? I can still deliver as stated above or ship.

It would still be legally tagged and titled for street use, have all the battery setup stuff and the lighting. You get the upgraded PWK. Everything but the non-installed parts and the wheels. That my friends aint bad!!!

There are plenty of twisties in Florida. There just aren't any elevation changes to go with them.
