No dog in the hunt, but I know this seller and since he's the Official Certifier of Certified-Old-Timers, I can vouch for him; he's a stand-up fella, buy with confidence!

If my KLR used those tire sizes I'd buy those Stinkos from him myself...

I thought about putting dirty bars on it. However, Instead of screwing up an excellent handling machine, I concluded I may as well just get something with forgiving geometry all the way around from the start.

For those that don't know, the 929 is fuel injected and makes a claimed 150hp yet weighs less than 400 lbs. Many feel Honda screwed this package up when they went to the 2004 1k's Then had oil consumption issues with those after that. So 929's are still highly praised and sought after.

This particular example has been stored indoors it's entire life. It is unmolested and unabused. I, as well as the PO, change the oil every 2500 with Honda HP-4 semi-syn. They only mods are 2bros pipe(nice and thoaty without being obnoxious), steel-braided brake lines, tinted windscreen, smaller turn signals, and special pearl white powder coat on the wheels. It has a recent gold chain and sprokets, yuasa battery, newer front pilot power, rear has another thousand or so remaining, new wheel bearings when I did the powder. I have all the original parts plus the factory painted rear seat cowl, and an extra front seat.

I am looking for $4800. NEW PRICE $4200.00 or I will trade for a farkled KLR, DR, XR, DL, KTM, Dual-sport. Comfortable standard?, Etc...

I really am gonna regret this but I want to go on an adventure ride

06 crf450r

$3200. or trade. My CRF450R is an '06 but I bought it new off the showroom floor in '09. The '06 was the first year that Honda improved the valve seat material that plagued earlier models with the highly talked about valve problems. I have never had to adjust the valves. It starts on the first or second kick hot or cold everytime. I live in Pinellas the most conjested county per sq mile in Florida. There is nowhere to ride a dirt bike and so I really didn't use it all that much. The closest place to ride was Croom (an hour drive away) I went up there maybe once per month to ride on the trails. The bike has never been close to the rev limiter. I am really anal when it comes to maintenence. I guarantee not one speck of dirt got past the airfilter. I would only use OEM filters (much better quality than Uni,TwinAir,etc.) and liberally apply Bel-ray filter oil. Also, I never rode behind somone else's roost. I was always by myself so the bike always breathed clean air. The engine and tranny oil would get changed every 6 hours with Honda HS4 in the engine side and GN4 in the tranny. Everything was left stock. It is plenty fast enough and I never ran out of power. This bike is faster than my uncorked XR650R was and over 50lbs lighter. I did add bar risers and Radiator guards. I put race tech springs front and rear for a 200lbs rider(I still have the originals) It has a brand new Michelin MS3 rear tire and the front is still good. I added numbers from decal works right after I bought it. I dont think a dirt bike looks right without numbers. I never raced it. I'm a 40 year old 6'5" man and have no business on a motocross track. I just changed the fork oil and re-greased all the linkages with moly and head bearings they all looked great. The only negatives are the plastics have some scratches and the wheels are scatched up. I planned on keeping the bike until my number was called and I took care of it as such. I'm the type of guy who buys something and hangs on to it. I would be keeping it, however , my truck was just totalled on 3/21 . You will not be disappointed by my bike. I gaurantee it runs as good as the day I bought it. It is an amazing machine. I will be missing it and kicking myself but it is the right thing to do at this time. WIlling to trade for street-legal bike or small pick up truck.

Thanks. Yeah it sits in my living room so I look at it a lot. I will miss it but I need to let it go.

Everyone that sees it, says it is a great looking bike. Unfortunately, it seems no one wants to buy it. Am I asking too much?

Not sure... I'm not really into the sport bike thing, even tho I'd love to get a stunt bike.

Your bike looks super clean, I'd assume your be able to get towards the top end of what they go for, I have no idea what that is tho.

so I just picked up my buddy's wrecked 2002 CBR 600 F4I

fuckin reality check. bike is definitely totalled, looks like he low sided and it slid into a tree, hitting windshield first and peeling the tank back. engine seems to be intact however, and the bike is still a rolling chassis...

talked to his family and they want it gone, they don't want to see it, just want to sell it to try and cover some of the funeral costs.

any ideas how to sell this thing? probably a good start for a stuntbike.

I'd take some pics and post it on stuntlife. Bad JuJu in my book to ride a bike with history.

I don't think I said it mang, but I'm sorry for the loss of your buddy.

I saw the story about Allen's accident last night on the news, Phaedrus. I was sorry to hear it.

I can understand his family wanting to have nothing to do with the bike, and like Buzz said you could probably sell it quick to a stunter. The pensacolariders.com crowd is full of stunters and wannabe stunters, and they've got a classifieds forum. Registration is free...

My condolences to you and to Allen's family.

Jerry, i don't know details beyond what you've posted, but i think how you unload it now matters not a whit. The Warrior thing here is that you stepped in and got that awful sight out of the family's face.

Do a full-disclosure sales pitch on a few forums, it'll move to a new owner or a bunch of new owners if parted. Fuck the 'cursed bike' mentality. Shit happens in this Ride some of us take.

Sorry for the loss of yr pal-- his memory is served very well by your after-action friendship & thoughtfulness

Forward, Friend
