Lookin at a 2.3L for MPGs, manual, ext cab, bla bla bla..

Open to suggestion, but I like the sound of the 2.3's 24 avg mpg.

2.3 is a good motor, if you keep up on the timing belt changes. Its pretty easy to do yourself. The hydraulic clutch slave cylinders were a pain in those trucks in years past, dont reckon they have changed a lot. Pull the transmission out, replace slave cylinder, have a bitch of a time bleeding it, finally it works again.

nice, typical ford engineering

I think the 01+ duratec 2.3 has a timing chain... but the "lima" pre-01 2.3 is the one with the amazing reputation for trouble free high mileage... even if ya forget the timing belt they say it's a non-interference engine...

Cut .050- .100" off the head, bowl cut, port, and use modded 1.94/1.50 Chevy valves, machine for manual tappets, big cam, JE Pistons on Crower Sportsman rods (or chevy 5.7's), Offenhauser intake and a 600 Holley.... Oh you wanted fuel economy... I'm lost there mang

I built a slew of 2.3's in my days for Mini Stock, bracket cars, and rice killers.... I always wanted to build one for a digger dragster chassis I had back then.

If my memory isn't failing me, the 2.3 was available in turbo form a la T-Bird. In something small like a Pinto (or Ranger) it could get the mileage and be a Mustang killer when needed. Way back on Speed TV they used to feature a HS teacher with a ratted out Pinto in just that form - it had a Mustang for lunch at the strip in one episode.

The turbo motors were cool, but had oiling issues if I remember right. I could be wrong because most of the ones I built were aspirated, ran race gas, and a dose of nitrous.

I have a 2009 BMW G65GS that I am selling, lots of upgrades.
It's located in Cape Canaveral. $3700 obo.

I would rather sell it to someone on here than deal with people on craigslist.

Hey Jeremy, good luck with the sale. I think we met once on a small group ride out through Tosohatchee several years ago. Bike is still looking good.

Yeah that was right after I got the bike. The Yamaha forks are the single best thing for these bikes. I put around 14k miles on it from the time that I bought it to when I went overseas mid 2011. It's in excellent shape other than the wheels, something about living on the beach, the salt gets into everything.
