It was a good ride. We should have a campout or something in the Mendo NF this spring, so all you south bay folks can get a taste. . . . great riding up there. Wish it was an hour or two closer.

I have been thinking about putting together this very thing my friend. Camp at Letts lake and do a day ride with some challenges then back to camp for dinner. Kind of a Fri night-arrive Sat-arrive/ride Sun- go home thing. I got some great ideas and trails in mind. The month of May would be a great time for such an event. The creeks are still flowing and things are blooming and getting green and maybe a touch of snow in spots.

Sounds great. There are some nice campsites up M3, too- I went up there last april and had my choice of 2 or 3 empty campgrounds on a saturday night. It's the road that goes up to the snow mt. wilderness and dead ends. It's closer to the middle creek side than the stonyford side.

Letts Lake ADV Rally

Letts Lake is just west of Stony Fort easy to find for many. Off of Hwy 5 and a bit of a dirt ride out of Clear Lake Oaks. They have water and bath rooms no showers but a nice lake. It would be kind of nice to have a get together that guys would actually have to leave the pavement and ride some dirt to get to the spot. Two groups/loops fast and slow with the slow group being on a route that a side car (ural) can run the loop.

We have taken the inflatable kayak up there (Letts Lake)

Creeks to cross

Trails

I'd be up for this ride too. We did an overnighter about a year and a half
ago to Hammerhorn Lake in the NW corner of MNF.
Here's the irde report from it.
http://http://www.advrider.com/forum...d.php?t=384189

Lots of good riding up there and lots of campgrounds too. It is going to
be soggy up there for quite awhile though so knobbies are going to br the ticket.

I'll be looking forward to using my new KYB fork upgrade on my Dakar,
should be sort of dirtbike now. As much as a Dakar can be anyway.

A couple trips to Mendo are on my list this year..

Spanky, Graham and I did a trip up there last year and had a great time..

I think we crossed like 18 creeks in 1 day.. it was cool..

Just found this thread. Great idea(SBR can be a good spot to connect as well).
Paul, well done, you and John, with the big bikes at the Hi Desert 250. That was some fun riding.
