The creeks are still flowing and things are blooming and getting green and maybe a touch of snow in spots.
That sounds like a ton o' fun! Lett's Lake is nice, and a good spot if lots of people that don't know the area are meeting up, but one of the nice things about camping off the bikes, though, is being able to get to the camp spots that other cars/trucks/people can't get to. I've done some bike camping in the MNF and it's always been in a nice secluded spot next to a creek

All the same, this ride sounds like a lot of fun!

I'm going to check back about the Letts Lake Campout. I've been up in there and it's really nice. I'm going to try to make it.

I'll wear my (hardly) waterproof boots.

When's the actual date?

Who's bringing up their compact, inflatable kayak

Shotgun for the sunset kayak ride just after the steak and before the bonfire!

Traditionally May up there is Sheetiron time as well. I rode in
the Sheetiron last year and it was a ton of fun but something
more kicked back like this without all the people and dust would
be great!

Buzzard Lagoon

Does anyone know if the Buzzard Lagoon gate is in fact closed and locked right now. Thinking of hitting it this Sunday (1/31).

The snow that was there was soft and we only had 1 small detour the entire 2 days of riding

NO DUST !!

Massive Traction.

John and I were the only riders on Adventure Bikes out about 40 riders.

There are lots of pics of the Snow but in the scope of things the snow was only about 20 percent of the ride on the 1st day.. the second day had no snow..

I said it on the LA to Vegas ride and I am saying it again.. Next time I am taking my Honda 450x. Its so much more work on the big bikes. I really learned alot though about controlling the bike in slippery conditions. I only had 1 tip over in 2 days of riding in challenging conditions so I am happy with that.

On with the PICS>>
We have three more rides in Ridgecrest:

Jerry.. Richard is going on your ride next weekend.. I would be going also but my wife is a huge supercross fan and we don't miss that. She waited in line yesterday for 3 hours to get RC's and ryan's autograph.

HD250 was another great ride.

Jerry,
The GPS tracks worked great. Seems like more folks are not using roll charts at all but I still like them even if there are a few got ya's.

club info

I just saw your posting and was hoping to get more information about your club. I live in Oakland and ride a 04 GSA. I would like to also know if my bike is too big for the kind of rides you do.

Thanks,

Buzzard Lagoon Road was open yesterday and it was a whole lot of fun up there.

We even forged our way down to the Lagoon through some very wet and
muddy conditions. Looks like we were the first people to ride that trail in
quite some time!

Talking Weekend GS rental in San Francisco: any suggestions?

Hi;
I'll be in downtown San Francisco next week for work, but have some time open. I plan to rent a 1200GS from Eagle Rider in the City around noon Friday and need to have it back by 5 pm Saturday.

Any suggestions for a good ride loop, assuming I spend Friday night out in the country somewhere? Napa, Muir Woods, PCH, Monterrey are all great ideas, but I'm not sure how far I can go within my time limits.

Just looking for great scenery with minimal traffic.
