You're going the wrong direction! My favorite BigDog quote: "It takes 12 HP to ride around the world--the rest is wheelspin"

Oh, don't worry...we're not going to be buying big piggy streetbikes and calling them "dualsports" anytime soon

It was fun, though, bombing two-up through the 100mph sweepers on 299 at 4000rpm with lots of motor to spare

Yes and no: We were goofing off under the bridge at Fernbridge on the Eel River, and the road photo was on Bald Hills, although we took Old Briceland to Ettersburg the day before.

Well, for what it's worth, my friend (an old roadracing buddy) buys a bike and then rides it many miles every day year after year, rain or shine...he never, ever drives his car. He rarely washes them and doesn't care what they look like. He was stoked to have someone else ride it that knows what the hell they're doing on a streetbike and a dirtbike. He offered it to us the day he got it, knowing full well it would find its way to the dirt. He's had it in the dirt numerous times already, he was just luckier than we were. He asked for photos last night when we dropped it off after giving it its first bath, and a direct quote from his e-mail this morning..."Super cool pics! I totally like the fact that I was not first one to put the Tenere on its side. Haha!!"

Yep, he's one in a million, and I'm lucky to have him.
Usually when either one of us gets a new bike the first thing we do is take it to the other's house and let each other ride it. It works for us.

Sheeeit. I was thinking about seeing if you needed to borrow something (a 950) for your thanksgiving trip, but you've already got something bigger and fancier. Looks like a great trip. This thread is really making me feel like I've been working too much and riding too little.
