Alice's, Boulder Creek, Los Gatos all an easy ride.
Steady lights means ABS is normal at that point. Alternate flashing means sync failure or ABS failure.

Check your ABS sensor gap. It's probably not the issue, but it's the one cause for the failure that you can fix easily.

M N B, The reset takes (getting solid double lamps). Kicks back in to alt flash the instant that ignition is re-powered (no cranking). I think that it would go to fault only after riding off if the gap was the issue. Reading the fault codes will help diagnose. Hoping someone has GS911.

edit: thread over in gspot.

I don't have an R1150GS. I have a 1997 K1100LT w/ABSII and an '09 F800GS with like ABS5.

My K1100 flashes in sync after power up until you hit about 5mph. Then it goes off unless there's a sync problem.

The ONLY time the ABS lights are on solid is if I disable ABS with the switch.

On powerup, when I have an alt flash condition, it's always been a good, but weak battery. Happens every winter if I forget to put the bike on a charger and don't ride it for 3+ weeks. Bike will start fine. No problem. Warm it up 3 minutes. Shut it off. Ignition off. Ignition on, ABS will then sync fine. Replace battery. Problem goes away.

I'm not sure if that helps you or not, I hope it does. Good luck!

I'll trade you my OLD PC for that OLD Blue bike of yours!

VR I would go look at my bike, but I left the key to my GS in Idaho. Other than what Kurt said, and what is in the HOW on the reset I don't know. I'll go look for my spare key and see if I can be of more assistance.

Hello,
I am a long time advrider who happens to work Friday and Saturday so I miss out on most rides.
Looking for those who might be interested in rides and camping leaving on Sundays

This would mostly be dirt oriented rides. I ride a large dual sport and know many great locations to camp after a great day's ride.

PM if interested.

This thread needs some riding action!

In June Eric and I staged out of our friend's place in Pioneer with the intent of finding a dirt route from HWY 88 to HWY 4. We didn't actually find what we were looking for, due to a case of temporary myopia on my part, but we had fun playing around in the mountains. It also happened to be a weekend when a cold front was blowing through. We dealt with lots of fog and cold temps on the first day...

This road was more well-traveled than the previous ones, but it was apparent that these forest roads were pretty lightly-traveled...

We ran into our fair share of this stuff...took a few photos before dismounting to help...

Getting mine under was much easier. Like my bald street tire? Eh, it's only a rear...

Eat the world...

I picked up this furry friend after bushwhacking through some fluffy greenery...

The fog was beautiful on the ridges...

Nice little pond...

Lots of downed trees dropping down into the canyon. Got tired of going through/over/around them so we turned around and scouted another route...

Sometimes being forced to re-route can bring unexpected rewards...

Guess what? Another downed tree re-route...

Awaiting my turn...

Love the way the roads are numbered up here. Thank you, private logging companies!

More on the way...

Anybody going to Tahoe Adventure Bike Weekend?

Just wondering if anyone's going to 1st annual Tahoe Adventure Bike Rally?

Early registration ends today. $250 seems a bit pricey but $300 sounds worse?!

I really like the idea of it, but the price is way too steep IMHO. If it included a room at the hotel for 2 days, now we're talking. You still need to find lodging on top of the $300. I know a ton of roads and rides in the Sierra... way to many to justify spending the $.

I hope the event does well and that they are able to refine the cost a bit.
