Hello everyone.
I've found a set of wheels online that I'd love to buy, but the seller won't ship them. They're located in San Jose. Would anyone in the area be willing to pick them up and ship them to me? Of course I'll be happy to cover the cost of your time, gas money, packaging, etc., in addition to shipping charges. Thanks! |

The wheels were on ebay & the auction ended this evening. Unfortunately someone else wanted them a little more than I did. Thanks for the offers to help, I really appreciate it!

Looks like Monday morning we'll be starting the long way to Baja. Here's 2 links to follow our progress. If you check them now you'll either see a blank map or an error message because there's no tracks yet...
The first link is simple to remember: www.hardworkingdog.whereamiriding.com (Thanks, Strega!) The other link has annoying ads from Spot but the map has much better zooming capability in satellite mode: http://share.findmespot.com/shared/f...f1Hj2EgMacWQOJ Wish us luck

Thanks Ramjet 'n 'jammer! This was a hard time to try and get ready for a trip like this, but we're there, finally. Got a headache from all the last minute details, and I'm still not sure whether to go full coverage or liability only
gonna get up in the morning and make that decision, and wait for the frost to melt...

Hey all,
Cary and I had a wonderful KLR trip to Baja for the Holidays ... rode out of our garage in Lower Haight in the rain and out of the rain by the end of the day in Taft ... ![]() Stayed here, $50, and they have tile floors, so you can park in the room without guilt, and the La Salsa Mexican restaurant is right next door ... The rain caught us again in Julien ... ![]() ![]() Here's a rough map of our route ... A bit over 1000 miles to Bahia de los Angeles ... More in a bit ... see if I get the first two posts of 2013 here on BAARC on Jan. 7th ... ![]() We stayed a couple of nights in Julien, nursing colds and letting the weather clear up, and rode on to the Canyon de Guadalupe Oasis, crossing at Tecate ... They've done some work on the watercrossing ... ![]() Our campsite, which comes with a private hot-tub ... Our friend from BARF, Termagant, broke her ankle on her way into the oasis on the 26th ... We helped a bit in her extraction ... getting her the last 12 miles into camp so her riding partner Nemo Brinker could ride to their pick-up truck at the border ... ![]() The extraction ... Then on to San Felipe, where we camped at Kiki's ... ![]() Sunrise ... finally got out of our long-johns ... good weather and moon-rises ... ![]() Next stop, Gonzaga, where we met ADVers Adam and Sean ... ![]() They had the cool idea to raise $3k for one of the 300+ orphanages in Baja, and had stopped to deliver the cash in San Felipe at their orphanage that was the home of ten children ... ![]() Nice, not windy, in the palapas ... We ran into Coco, too ... ![]() Coco had heard about Adam's contribution to the orphanage and was dropping off a load of firewood for them by way of thank-you ... A nice present at the Palapas where firewood is hard to come by ... Next, on to Bahia de los Angeles ... ![]() We found some sand on the way from the low road to the oasis ... the sand was actually fun after we picked Cary's bike up and was only a mile or two ... ![]() Coco at Kiki's ... mandatory Coco ADV RR photo ... ![]() ![]() ![]() Cary and I rode to Bahia de los Angeles and met our friends Christine and Jim ... on New Year's day Jim and I rode up to Mission San Borja ... ![]() The stone church was finished in 1801 by the Dominicans ... you can see the scar on the mesa above the church where the stone came from ... it was carried by hand to the building site ... by 1818 the mission was abandoned ... ![]() ![]() We returned to BoLA and met the Ena Riders, who were also staying at Guillermo's ... fun guys from Japan who didn't speak any English, and we didn't speak any Japanese ... an issue until we all pulled out our cell phones and showed one another pics of our racebikes ... ![]() Then it was all party hats, lobster dinners and fiesta dancing ... ![]() ![]() ![]() The whole town turned out for the fiesta and the band played til 4 am ... fun.
