Don't know if that was directed at me, but I'm old school with nav, usually just a map... my buddy had his Garmin and I could find our tracks if you are interested. We did a lot of the single track around Penny Pines, including the 38 loop that I love. We rode through the Yuki wilderness and down to Covelo for gas (the Soda Creek store said they were almost out of gas), and returned to Lake Pillsbury area for more singletrack the 2nd day.

Yup, sure was, roam. If you can get them from your buddy that would be cool, but I should be able to piece something together based on what you said.

Thanks!

If you are heading in towards the Ntl forest from Upper Lake on Elk Mtn road (301), stop at the forest service building and they usually have good OHV maps sitting outside in the little shack, there is one for the southern part and one for the northern. Or you can stop by REI and get a nice waterproof Mendo Natl Forest map that has all the roads and the trails for like $16.95- it's a great map.

Last time we were at Pillsbury a nice ranger type lady came by our camp and gave us one.

Laugh Morocco ...

Hey BAARCers,

It turns out you can get on a jet plane at SFO direct to
Paris and transfer to a plane to Marrakech, rent a bike
and go riding ...

So, that's what we did ...

Plunging down to the village of Sour, in
the Haute Atlas ...

We did a ten day loop south of Marrakech and
didn't see a fence, or a gate, or a "no trespassing"
sign ...

With an old guide book and a 1:1,000,000 map
and a little French, we had a blast ... can't wait
to go back and ride and explore some more ...

see you around the campfire,

Hi HWD,
You'd love Morocco ... It's like Baja, only with real coffee! Ha.

We rented scooters too, to tool around Marrakech ...
Fully half the vehicles in the city are motos ... lots of fun riding around
with the moped nation in North Africa ...

Everyone knew we were tourists of course (how does one look more rediculous in a 'Stich? Add your SOA vest! ) but no one guessed we were from the USA, which was kind of nice ...

Heading up to Asni and Imlil ...

Here's the bikes we rented ... About $65/day ...
Basically a big street bike with a 19" front tire ...

OK, we're still in Morocco ... Just had to post to get us off page three ... imagine we'll see some Baja pics soon ...

see you around the campfire,
