Well only three people showed up, but what can ya do? Mike (Zeegyman) on a KLR, Richard (RichardB) also on a KLR, and Josh (Kaia) on his BMW 650 Dakar. It was a little chilly and it sprinkled a little on us at the end ofthe day, but overall it was a fun ride.
La Gloria rd, connecting HWY 25 and Gonzales. ![]() I just can't seem to sell this bike, so I guess I'm stuck riding it for the winter. What a bummer. ![]() Richard on "The worlds Fastest KLR". Yep, it's true he hauls ass on that thing! ![]() ![]() ![]() Mike and Josh on Old Hernandez. I brought up the rear on this road, so I didn't get any pics of the water crossing. Yer just gonna have to wwait for the other guy's ppics to see that. ![]() ![]() So that was the ride. I kept it simple as I wasn't sure who was showing up. I realise this is the worst time of year for riding, but hope to meet some more of you guys soon! Oh yeah, on my way home I stopped by a pool I used to skate when I was a kid. It's been fiilled in for the last 6-10 years, but somehow it's been dug out a few months ago. No that''s not me skating. At this point I'd probably kill myself if I tried that again! ![]()

Nice pics!
This thread (BAARC) is a great idea and would like to go on a few of these rides. Been street-only rider ever since I started, but recently gotten interested in trying out some adv rides. |

There are about six people who have said that they're coming. It would be nice to have more show up. The dirt should be optimal with the recent rains. I've "ordered reasonably dry weather" for Saturday, but it might sprinkle a little bit. I enjoy riding dirt roads in the rain, but hopefully there won't be too much of that. Since one rider will be driving there in his Jeep with the KTM on the back, it looks like we'll have a "lockable storage unit" to hold the extra layers of clothing necessary to keep us from freezing on the way there. Since we should make it to Carnegie about 10:00 a.m., we should be done by 1:00 or 2:00 p.m. Three or four hours of dirt riding is more than enough for anybody who doesn't do it regularly. And after the first couple of loops, you're free to go anyway. We weren't planning to try to stay together for the return trip.

Pano's are pretty easy.
Regardless of what software you use to put them together, it's important to overlap your shots by between twenty and thirty percent. Take as many shots as you need to cover the subject--go a little over to either side too. I like to use vertical orientation to capture things like kaia posted. Google for Canon's PhotoStitch software--it used to be free. I put mine together in Photoshop. As far as processing, do your best to make all the shots the same exposure, saturation and so on--this is pretty easy in PS as you open all of them at the same time and synchronize them. Some software does this for you. Then stitch them together. It really is that easy. Of course you'll want to do a little cropping and maybe some more adjustments but if all you do is sync all of the shots then stitch them, you'll get a decent pano from them. ian408 screwed with this post 12-09-2009 at 07:01 AM |

of who, among the AdvRider crowd is going to show up on Saturday for the Dublin to Carnegie ride. So far the biggest turnout is from BARF.Will any AdvRiders be showing up for this?

No seriously, this is a great idea Todd. I'm subscribed and watching, but may not be up for riding until it is a bit dryer/warmer out.
