Spanky,

Remember when that Racoon opened your bag, took out the pizza, and opened the tinfoil around your pizza. He didn't leave 1 single crumb !

that was funny

Regarding the above quote (yeah, I'm quoting myself, wanna make something of it? ) when I wrote that I meant it as a compliment, meaning we take the hard way because it's fun and exciting and gives us something to joke about with our friends when we return from the battlefield. Well, I got up this morning and read it again and it totally sounded like I was dissing Todd and Paul's ride Not what I had intended at all! Quite the contrary...I'm jealous as all hell because I was planning on riding Sierra Nf this weekend but now I'll have to make do with the Eel River instead

Anyway, Todd and Paul, if you thought I was being snarky I apologize. I was actually saying you guys took the hard way because you aren't boring

Well, as an almost innocent bystander, it didn't seem snarky to me. Seemed like a comment, on my reading.

But, to quote a favorite rmd sig line, "what do I know?"

No worries. I've been laughing about BoringRider.com all day long. One day I hope to be smart enough to post up in that forum, but until then I'll continue to do stupid things for your entertainment!

Sorry, Todd!

Hey, if it makes you feel any better, I've spent a large amount of time on the ground myself. I'm sure most of these have been posted on ADV at some time or another, but I'm gonna post `em again anyway so here goes...

Ok, ok... Lets talk about riding. (Although damn Woods! That last one looks painfull. Dusy Ershim?)

Anybody up for a ride in the Bodie Hills/Sweetwater Mountains? With four days we can get some really fun riding/exlporing in.

Day 1: Ride to the Bridgeport area and set up camp.

Day 2: Bodie Hills. Very beginer friendly ride. Killer secnery, mines to explore, ghost towns, fishing, etc...

Day 3: Sweetwaters. Not as easy, but still on fire roads the whole time. Some steep, loose, rocky descents. There's also water crossings and about a mile of sand.

You can make it home after riding the Sweetwater loop, but it's not easy and I'd recommend going home day 4.

So is there any interest? I'm thinking of leaving August 13th or 20th.

Another good ride would be sometime in September. Do the Mojave Rd from Barstow to Laughlin NV. This could be combined with back roads and Death Valley to make it a true adventure ride of about a week in length. It does require some serious sand skills though, as the Mojave Rd. has many miles of the dreaded stuff. I've got a good idea for a route on this one, but would be open to change.

Interested in the Bodie ride if you go around the 20th or later. Don't think I can make it before that.

It's been a few months since I've crashed, I think I need to fix that
