No more booze. I think I'm gonna dry out for a while and get back in shape.

Cool man! We'll have to set something up. I've yet to make it up there, other than riding dirtbikes at Middelcreek. Cheers! |

East and West of 101
I, too, will be monitoring this thread. Always interested in a Mendocino NF, Cow Mtn., or any of the dirt roads between 101 & the coast. WR250R is happy from single track to graded fire trails to the highway. I'm just learning this little bike's potential, (and mine).

NC Ridge Rd. continues as a singletrack for a few miles and then returns to a good double track/road. However it goes thru the Condor sanctuary and lots of private property and gates till it exits at Ventana Inn in BS.
It is also in the Ventana wilderness from that pic above until Anderson Peak. A "friend" of mine has done it on MTB and gave me the intel. I have ridden from Venatana to Anderson Peak on my MTB when it was open, some left wing lawyers for the Land owners, who get a free graded road made the closure permanent! |

I will not be tresspassing on this ride. There's too much potential for further bad press if a group of MCers goes beyond the road closure. I'm not the judging type, so if you want to go it won't bother me.
That being said, I'm away from home right now and don't have the capability to post an accurate route. I will post it sun-mon. The basic route will be meet in Carmel at 9, ride 1 south to Kirk Creek, where we will set up camp. Then we can ride 30+ miles of dirt along the ridge above 1 unencumbered. Then return to Kirk Creek, for dinner and revalry. The next day we will ride through hunter ligget, then some dirt between the base and 101. We can then take Bitterwater rd to 25 and back up to Hollister. Ther is several options to hit up some dirt along 25. |

There's a really good possibility that the Cone Peak stretch of road
will be closed and gated for the season at the Nacamiento Fergesun/SCRR intersection. The USFS normally locks the gate on that stretch of road every winter. |

Ridgecrest rides
I have sent my money in for both the Dualies Ridgecrest 250 and the Countdown Hi Desert 250. It looks like we have a good group for the dualies ride. Is anybody interested in doing the dual sport route for the Hi Desert 250? Once again the plan is to truck the bikes doewn. If I can swing the ime I'd also like to head over to the Spring Mountains for a day or two of camping and riding.
