Many thanks to your son for serving our fine country!

After our first ride 32 years ago, I'm still riding with my pops!

Jarrett was in the news over the weekend.....sort of.....I can neither confirm nor deny any knowledge of a short trip north from Iraq to Italy over the weekend

Jarrett got promoted to E4/Senior Airman yesterday. He's worked his way up from Airman Basic (1 stripe) to Airman First Class (2 stripes) to Senior Airman (3 stripes) in the span of ~22 months. Next step is Sergeant (4 stripes). It's normally a 36 month wait to make Senior Airman as an enlisted airman, but the Air Force has a special program where commanders can promote a limited number of outstanding Airman First Class (E-3) to Senior Airman (E-4) six months before they would otherwise be eligible (in Jarrett's case they made this happen ~14 months ahead of schedule). This program is known as the Senior Airman Below-the-Zone Promotion Program. Only 15 percent of eligible Airman First Class (E-3) can be promoted under this program. He's worked hard, folks have noticed, and now he's being fast tracked. He's taking classes, working on his degree, and moving up the ladder.......and he just turned 20 two weeks ago.......I'm really proud of him.

How's the view from your office window?

They finally "punched" Jarrett's senior airman stripes into place last week over in Trashcanistan.....he''ll be there until late March.......Not sure what that fuzzy thing over his lip is all about ......he said, "it's a deployment stash"

Another pic from last week.......Jarrett said the back seater threw up a peace sign but you can't make out that detail in this cell phone pic:

Congrats!!

Incredible view from the air! Congratulations to your son on his promotion. My son gets his Navy pilot wings pinned on this Friday and will be flying P3s.

Kudos to your and your son, and here's to many more great times together!

J.
