Question World Pricing of the 990R

Let us see how the price of a new 990R compares in the various countries represented here, not the list price but what you actually paid for a new 990R. Let us convert currency to the US$, just to find common ground.

South Africa: ZAR 146 000 & R7.50 = 1 US$ makes it US$ 19466

Let us have some info ek USA / Europe / UK / Australia / The East. Thank you kindly!

I don't have a new 990R, but if I did I am guessing it would be more to buy than anyone else here.

My 07 990ADV - 134,000nis or, at today's rate, $35,470.

Or, in more colloquial parlance, I was arse-raped.

And I got a good deal.

In Greece you would need for a new adv990R the amount of 15850 euro, or 23900 us dollars on todays rate...

I'm from Canada. I flew down and got my 2007 990 in Kansas 5 months ago. I paid roughly US$11,500.

I'm in Taiwan right now for my friend's wedding. I stopped by the KTM dealership here, in Taipei, earlier this week. They have a new 2008 990 selling for NT$880,000; which is roughly US$27,000. Crazy.

Got my new 09 990 in october for $13900 usd, they threw in a garmin 550 with all the hardparts and tourtec mounts for $0, (1400 savings) then had the one and only Todd Standford do the R+ suspension upgrade for $500. So my NET price ended up being $13000 usd for a bike that is I feel is a bit above an R model.

What about the non R with extended suspension is better than a R? other than a significant money savings? From reading the owners manual i gathered that the ABS would not function properly if the suspension was lengthened.
Anyways, this is the route i am going as well. Except my ABS is going to end up in a box somewhere.

Nein....the ABS works great and its a feature that I did want on my bike. It really does work well when roading/touring. My suspension is much better than the R model due to the respringing and revalving. Hence in MY worthless opinion. Better than an R.

I was truly interested in your opinion, so, i asked.

as for the ABS, the front works great. But, the rear ABS engages way to early on my bike. Maybe the rear ABS would work better after i mod the suspension, . I appreciate the added road safety of the ABS, but i want a better dirt machine, better braking feel, a lighter bike and more storage. So, mine has to go.
