A letter to Mr. Claus
I have a very special request this year. I think I have been good enough to ask for this; I am asking to forfeit any and all gifts, and that all my earned goodwill be directed to someone else. I hope I'm not being selfish, and this doesn't cause any inconvenience to you. In fact, if you stop by my house early, I'll be more than happy to help you deliver good cheer on your long trip around the globe.
It all started last year when a friend got hurt real bad at work. He was out of work for an entire year. Somehow his family and friends successfully struggled to make the best of it, but it wasn’t easy. You see our friend was one of those soft-spoken leaders who can remain calm even in the face of the worst Nor’-Easter!]
So although I am thankful our friend is back to work, it has not been without great difficulty. Without his leadership, others at his workplace have left or fallen on bad times themselves. I’m not asking you to fix the economy, but I cannot stand to see my friend suffer – which is why I am asking you to spread my good fortune (I’m not talking about the $515 I have left in my savings account either).
I know, again it sounds selfish, and it is in part, but there is a method to my asking – I think it is actually a good leveraged move (even the good lord would agree). When my friend and his co-workers are well, they themselves spawn happiness all over – just by being good.[/
I know you’re very busy, so I’ll cut to the chase, but as I make my request, please try to think back when I had those big brown kids eyes full of love (they’re a bit faded - a hazel grey now; we may need to work on that for next year) when I ask for these two gifts: finding the Pats a new set of really good defensive backs, and one for my friend, this may require some negotiations with Jerry Johnson, but maybe the Pats would play better if we could get the Dallas Cheerleaders to switch teams to the Pats? I don’t know, just a thought
OK, so I’ll see you early on the 25th for that cup of spiced-eggnog.
Your buddy, BuckRider
P.S. I rode my Santa Red Ducati today...it was fun![/font]
Am I really expected to put some bit of wisdom here in my signature space?
