When I left off, we had ridden down the coast from northern NB to Sussex to rendevoius with next group of NBDSC ambassadors, Beer Jonny, Brooksy and once again, Dan. Dan is really a great guy, I gotta tell you.
Meet up at Adairs Wilderness Lodge ![]() ![]() From left to right: "Wheelie", ah, I mean "Brooksy" "Beer Jonny", give the man a Hannessy Hammock and a 650R and he's gone! "Danbo The Atlantic Rambo" ![]() We all sit down for a great meal at the lodge ![]() This is Dans way of telling me he like's me. ![]() Wake up Redcorn, it's time to ride down the the Bay of Fundy brother ! ![]() Dan keeps calling me. Hmm, what does he want I wonder, and where is he ? "Frank", "Frank" I hear. I follow the commanding voice of the ex hockey player, looking for it's source location. I find it ![]() Actually, I surprised attacked the big fock. He's a big ole, tuff ass hockey player, but still needs mammas warmth in the form of a hot water bottle, when it get's cool outside ![]() Herculese loadding his sweet 990 Adventure ![]() These cabins have radiant floor heating. It was really nice. ![]() After breakfast, Dan decides to comment in the guest register ![]() We saddle up, and head for Martins Head ![]() The southern New Brunswick coast is unique. It is a wilderness area. Just dirt roads, coastal woods and remote coast. Very unique. We are very close to the ocean here. ![]() ![]() We stop to re group before we make our assault on the beach ![]() But where the heck is Brooksy ? ![]() Beer Jonny doubles back to find him. And he does.. PUNTURE ! ![]() The odd thing is, Brooksy exclusively rides on his rear wheel. The front never touching the ground until he dismounts. So how the fock, did he punture the front eh ? ![]() Brooksy makes quick work of it. ![]() This trail leading us to the beach. ![]() ![]() Is this cool or what ? ![]() More on the beach at Martins Head Bay of Fundy when I come back........

great trip report guys ! love to see some american folks up this way on motorcycles . you usually see americans up here for fishing atlantic salmon
"salmo salar" or hunting for black bears "ursus americanus".i drive my bike in northern new brunswick section most of the time, and i am a n.b.d.s.c. member. just a little note on your st-quentin to serpentine journey you made a hell of a detour, but i guess you guys probably prefer the woods scenery. you could of simply took route 180 "roads of ressources" up to portage lake and then in to serpentine lodge you would have saved roughly 150 miles.keep tripin boys and thanks again for the great trip report! give me a buzz or a e-mail if , ever up my way!

So this years trip would take us from the the Great North Woods of New England, the northern Maine wilderness, across the remote interior of New Brunswick Canada and now thatks to our friends at NBDSC it's remote wilderness coast. Freakin awesome
![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() Bruce looking at Martins Head. We arrived obviously at low water. The Bay of Fundy has 30 + tidal surges, so where Bruce is standing now will be under water in a short time. ![]() Dan out there testing his luck ! ![]() ![]() Lst year Bruce and his SE were on the beach of the Pacific Ocean in Oregon coming off the TAT, now on the beach of the North Atlantic. ![]() Be back later........

After that we head back up. The boys are taking a southerly course along the coast towards S.t John where we will be tonight, showing things most folks in New Brunswick don't even know are there along the way.
![]() Remember, this is all coastline. Hard to keep in mind because in the states, almost every inch of coastal real estate has been developed. Not here. Still very much a coastal wilderness. ![]() The NBDSC boys tell us they are going to take us to a little known spot called "The Eye of the Needle". We'll have to walk the last bit in. ![]() Dan's been punched out by the best NHL players in the league ! He told us in the training camps he was warned, if he went after Gretsky, his protectors would pumle him. He heeded the warning ![]() Now due to the grand scale of this spot, the photos are not going to depict the true essence it omits. What you cannot see in the picture is the ocean. We could of course, it's right there in the "Eye of the Needle". ![]() ![]() Moose sign ![]() Looking down into the canyon ![]() We kick back and soak it all in. ![]() Brooksy. A great rider happy to show us his country. A proud Canadien and well he should be. ![]() "Just step back a litlle more......, a little more....." ![]() After we walk back to the bikes, we saddle up and head southerly again. Beer Jonny is taking us to a spot called "Wee Peak". ![]() ![]() ![]() More in a bit......

We plan to stop for lunch before going up to Wee Peak. Jonny knows just what we were lokking for too. SEAFOOD !
Along the way: ![]() Now, I'll be the first to admit, I wa riding out of the realm of the loaded 800 on these roads. I was behind BeerJonny on his XR650R and he flies. I was getting carried away on this road, really wicking it up. ![]() And overshot this turn and at first, low sided at about 40 mph, which wasn't bad, but then the 800 bit into something and.....yup, highsided. I almost made the turn, but you can see the skid mark from the port side pannier. ![]() I was fine and the bike was fine except for a little pannier tweak. The boys helped up, and of course proceeded to break my balls , then it was off to lunch again ! ![]() Yup, thats the ocean right there. Covered bridges, 2 of them, oceanside. Rare. And the only 2 that you can photograph in one picture. ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() Look at that tidal drop ! ![]() ![]() Oh, this is gonna be good. ![]() This is the parking lot ! ![]() ![]() ![]() Of course the big fock can't help but make sure he has documented proof of my crash ![]() We feast ! And yes, the chowder was flippin excellent !! ![]() "Gee Frankie, that BMW folded like a cheap suit on that turn, my KTM didn't seem to have a problem with it though eh" ? ![]() Again you fockin Sasquatch: Now this is really cool and the reason for the name of the restuarant. ![]() At high tide, the sea water comes all the way in those caves. ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() From there, we gear up and head for "Wee Peak" ![]() ![]() And the ocean view from Wee Peak. Yea, we'd find this kinda stuff on our own....yea, right. The NBDSC members made this trip unforgettable. ![]() Where the fall woods meets the sea uninterrupted. ![]() We shoot the bull, but we also know it's getting late in the day. We need to get to St. John tonight and be back across the border into the U.S. tomorrow. We've been gone a long time, logged many miles since that day we crossed Lake Champlain into Vermont and we need to start to heading towards home. ![]() Of course BeerJonny knows the best way into the city of St. John. No traffic this way eh ? ![]() It starts to rain when we arrived at the Best Western in St. John. It's a sad goodbye to our new friends from Canada. These guys are the real thing. I wish I knew more people like them. I think Dan is crying under that helmet ..... Big baby ya know. ![]() When I come back, we cross the border into Calais Maine following day, ride Acadia NP the and I'll wrap this RR up.
