Great write up Frank. Thanks for taking the time to put this together. But I speak for all Canadians when I say you may want to look up the correct spelling of Gretzky.......but where you're from Joi-see, I suppose you could have easily thought it was "The Great Gatsby". We'll forgive you this one though....this time. I don't know how you found the time to sneak up on me in the shower though, especialy when you spent so much time on your hair grooming....

It was a great run though. And yes it was a sad day when you guys departed from St. George that day on your way to Calais, Me. I said it before, and I'll say it again, you guys are the real deal; genuine, down to earth good 'ol boys. I consider it an honour to have met you Frank, and to call you my friend.

I hope however, you found a proper toilet when you arrived home. There was just no need of you "spoling" our beautiful Canadain fall foliage like you did this day.....

The next morning we were having breakfast and gearing up to cross back over the border at Calais Maine.
Suddenly Dan pops into the motel lobby ! He want ted ride with us just a little bit more even if was raining and and the tar. He even brought his lovely wife Christina with him to meet us.
She departed by car and we hit the road hugging the coast, southbound for the border.

The border at Calais

We rode down coastal route 1 to Mount Desert Island Me. and set up camp. We arrived there about an hour before dark.

A nice little seafood place was close by.

When we got back to our campsite, we took a stroll down the super dark road to the lighthouse.

DK capturing these cool night shots with his very good camera. Trust me it was pitch black out there.

The next morning we strike camp. Today we plan to ride the loop around Acadia NP then head southwest towards home.

Cadillac Mountain and Bar Harbor below.

DK and Bruce, silently thinking about where we had just gone and who we had met. Trips like this are therapy, they cleanse a mans mind you know.

We stop for one more lobster lunch before we navigate west and inland once more.

This bridge over the Penobscot River leads us away from the ocean and towards home.

We stopped at this motel in Maine about 60 miles from the New Hamshire border for the night. The next morning while packing the bikes up. This friendly local guy came by and just wanted to chat. And chat we did.

This evening we would be home, back with our loved ones after almost 2 weeks, and it would mean the end of the "2009 Turf and Surf Adventure" for us.
It was just awesome. As I mentioned in the begining of this RR, "Way better than I expected".

Thanks to the boys from Maine who helped us route through to Greenville and everyone else who also offered intel in routing. Couldn't have done it without ya's.
But a huge, meaningfull THANK YOU goes out to THE NEW BRUNSWICK DUAL SPORT CLUB
Without their gracious help, hospitality and guidence this trip would not have been possible to the degree it was.
"We owe you boys"

I'm sure I speak for all of us at NBDSC, Frank, when I say that it was our

pleasure, and you and the boys are welcome back anytime. You're all tops

in my book.

Y'all come back now, y'hear!

I am glad you got to meet some of the NB boys and enjoy our fine province. Will you be posting up the GPS files on here or tell us where we can link into it. I live here and have not been on some of those routes that you described ( just too many roads and not enough time in a riding season). I thoroughly enjoyed your report.
