Sent some time in Moab during the summer. I'd suggest buying a National Parks pass before you leave so you don't have to pay admission every time you enter a park.

Canyonlands was more enjoyable, to us anyway, than Grand Canyon. Kodachrome park, and the ride there, was good. Goblin Valley was a great ride, rode through Manti - La Salle (?) mountains and finally found some trees.

Moab Brewery was a decent restaurant. The ride along the Colorado river on the state highway is spectacular.

Get a Delorme atlas of the state and use that to plan your riding. Distances are long there but speed limits generous. Carry some water.

I'm planning to make Moab one of our top destinations in my trip in late May, early June. Problem is - we'll be on a street bike and a cruiser, so we planned on trying to pick up some ATV's while out there. Anyone have experience doing that or a friend in the biz who might be able to get a good deal, or anyone want to roll through there with us, or show us the way?

Fred Hink at arrowheadmotorsports.com is in Moab. He sells moto parts, lots of KLR stuff but can get whatever you need. He rides the area and sells the local maps. I would highly recommend contacting him. Heck, if he is not real busy in his shop, he may just take you for a spin.
