...or bullfighter with real bulls. you'll be riding roads through plenty of free range cattle country, including some unlikely locations. the wild critters tend to run away from you, cattle loafing along the road can get spooked and run right into ya.

watch for sheep crap in the road and back off until you locate the herd. if going too fast, you could come around a corner or over the top of a hill and find 500 sheep blocking the road.

one of the things i enjoyed seeing were herds of wild horses, easy to imagine yourself back in time 150 years.

not bored...worse, i'm grounded. no green light for extended travel this year, at least not yet.

that rat bike is sitting there packed, plugged into the charger, pointed towards the door. i could be on the road in about 10 minutes.

i'd like to be riding along with you guys, but damn, i missed ALL those planning meetings.

here's another tip. sometimes it's good to turn off that SPOT when you make a detour. google has that cool streetview feature, and the folks back home might get the wrong idea when they read the sign on the building you're parked in front of which reads BIG BOBS GENTLEMANS CLUB. how would they know you just stopped to ask directions to the campground?

might, but in good conscience i couldn't sell it to a KLR rider...too tall, scary fast, uses nary a drop of oil, no vibes, and is 100% glued together so it doesn't fall apart. in other words, there is zero of the usual KLR entertainment value, ya just wouldn't like it.

safe travels. take some photos when ya see BIG BOBS...the sign i mean.

And I thought you were talking about me.

Will TKCs melt if I ride 55 on the slab in 113+ temps?

be better if you had a used throw away rear tire that you could change to a new TKC at or near your meetup, then you could be sure of a ride to the top and back home on the same tire. front TKC will be good all the way.

i can reliably get 5000 out of the TKC rear running on a mix of roads, but others say they get 3500-4500. if you don't want to change a tire, better start with a zero mile rear because you're going to be over 4000 for the trip if you ride to Glacier.

bring para cord and some sort of simple WP bag in case you find yourself at a camp spot where you should hang the food...oops, you guys probably had that one as a discussion point already, might be a memo circulating.
