I was kinda disappointed in that film. They could have done so much more with it, but it turned out kinda bland. I still enjoyed it just because I have emotional memories about riding part of it with you guys.

That's not quite true, there are a few pretty gnarly sections. But yes, there are bypasses.

I may be doing the CDR up to Salida again in the latter part of August so I can hit the TAT out to the west coast.

I'm glad I had you FF's to keep me company and help me get thru the tough spots. The comradery means everything!!! To do it over I would like to go just a bit slower and smell the flowers a little more. But I wouldn't mind having the same crew and a few more to share the adventure with. You guys were the best and I hope in the future I'll have enough time to do the full length.......minus fleecers ridge

I posted a few more pics on Kev's thread and made a little fun of Bob cause he's not within arms length.

OBTW I got 4k out of my rear 606.........about 1,200 blacktop. I could run it about 500 more but hey the riding season is coming up, so time to start fresh.
"The comradery means everything!!!" Fuckin' A>
+1 on the no Fleecers ridge, and everything else you said about our trip.

I'm with Pat about the movie. I've had it on the DVR for a while now... It is cool to see some of the locations, and that so many badass bikers jump ship before reaching the end.

ps.. my T.63 Mich rear tire, looks as new. 15000 miles and still cooking.

How do they compare with the TKC's Jack?

This guy had about 5500mi. of mixed riding on a little Bimmer. Not bad especially when you factor in the price.

The local BMW shop got a new 800 in that had the wrong front wheel.

Inside the crate was a Wethead front wheel with the next generation Tourance. Very nice.

Well the F8 rims are pretty poor quality anyways. I think I finally have a couple decent dents in my front rim from bouncing off rocks and G-outs in the desert. I swear if I didn't have more than one bike I would never get to ride. Need to mail my shock out to god knows where for a rebuild and my fork seals are leaking again.

And did ADV just completely break on Firefox for anyone else? Edit: I figured it out, all the quote/post buttons are invisible. WTF?

Steve tried it several times, killed Kevin's Spot!!! Steve is the only one who rode the entire way to the Canadian border on the CDR.

I'm not sure about how it does against a TKC. Never had a rear one. Always killed by the sticker shock.
I run a TKC up front because the choices for a 19" front are pretty slim. It wears at a similar rate to the Michelin rear!!!! Believe it or not.
The T63 rear holds up as well or better than the 606 and various Kenda IRC and other reasonably priced on/off tires.
This pair has over 3000 miles on it. Plenty of road, the entire CDR, a couple trips to Michaux and over to Kevins on them.

No............but if Reno B couldn't make it up, I don't even want to attempt it. Kev may have his spot track showing he made 4 attempts at it.

I heard he even unloaded his gear off the bike..........

That must be one badass mountain. The bicyclist were walking their bikes down the hill.
